i bought some chainsaw wellies, cheapo trousers and cheap helmet for my 30/31 and regret it completely, the trousers didn't give me freedom to move properly, the helmet muffs and visor kept falling off all the time and the wellies wore my legs nearly down to the bone, the wellies do come in handy for river/stream work. cheap is really expensive as it hurts and you pay twice, quality doesn't cost - it will pay for itself..

you're right the landy wouldn't have done that, a landy driver would have simply driven round it:thumbup:

yeah its deffo clearing a few bits up for me, off the top of my head there's the sizes of fungs in relation to height on the stem showing how much tissue damage has already occurred and how much residual wood is left, its obvious really but if its never been thought about then you won't be looking at it like that.

we had over 15t stolen this year, 30t stolen last year, and approx 10t the year before:thumbdown: mostly arb arisings and some forestry stacks, leave it laying around and the wood pixies remove it at night (or daytime)

NB Pigs in blankets do NOT cook well in a tin Roses tin on a brazier:001_rolleyes:
are you telling us there might be a reason they are called bangers?

it works very well for a tight ass like me, it did fall back over once nearly pinning me to a pile of split firewood, i jumped out of the way and it just grazed me on its way past, this wouldn't happen if it was fastened to a vehicle, i usually secure the hitch end with a heavy log to stop it happening when not attached to a vehicle.

set the alarm for 6am so i didn't miss any of it, missed the alarm and woke at 7am:blushing:, the camera was in the car so i didn't bother taking any pics as they would be misted up, just been out with the camera and scope to the top of the nearest hill, right next to the local observatory and snapped a couple of shots, i just held the camera to the scope

GASIFIER PLANS WOOD GAS HYDROGEN GASIFICATION GENERATOR on eBay (end time 23-Dec-10 06:49:54 GMT) just found this, fun project eh?
-
that is very interesting, is there a kit available or is it a case of 'here is the science.. off you go'? i have an old landy sat waiting for me to find time to mot it, it has plenty room for tanks/boilers and i could maybe find a bit of wood waste to run it on.

finally run out of beech, pity as you just throw another couple of logs at it in the morning and its off again, started burning fresh ash which is ok when its going but i use a blowtorch to light it every morning:thumbdown:

If you have booked with a good company you will be shipped away to a hotel, if you are going on a cheapo holiday then you are stuck, thats the gamble you take. If you are spending all your money on flights and have no emergency money then who is to blame. I dont want to see any one suffer, BUT you have to take responsebility for your own actions.
I am sitting here nice and warm with no worries, it isnt by chance, it is my desicion.
If i decide to pack the kids and wife into the van and head to France skiing, but i no for sure it will be a nightmare and dangerous:thumbdown:
well obviously if you went in the van it would be a nightmare and dangerous, but if you went in a well shod landrover it would be as simple as a school run in summer:001_smile:

That Disco' in your avatar, did it go forwards or backwards from where you parked it ?
thats how the woman usually parks it:thumbup: at least its not 4ft into the road this time eh? i found the pic online and its from a french film i think:001_smile:

but we have to blame someone now don't we? trees have been falling on people for thousands of years but now it has to be someones fault and we're not happy till someone has been sacked, its clear the snow is caused by the transport minister and he deserves the sack.

when it rains it comes without warning and so heavy it floods, its ok though as its usually nice and warm, as said before don't go swimming in the sea unless you are a really good swimmer, me and some mates nearly drowned trying to get past the surf, everytime you come up for air another wave crashes down on you.. hope you have an ace time, don't forget they drive on the wrong side of the road:thumbup1:
