comedy viewing right from not letting the rigged limbs run, just run a bit and crash into the stem creating the mess you would get from felling, i understand the step cut displayed and you do it to save manual handling/extra dump fees but the dude with the yellow hat belongs in a circus, just holding the saw by the rear handle with two hands, not using the chainbrake and chipping good firewood.
ok i know you were posing:thumbup:

i like the rollytube thing, it's an obvious upgrade to the twig i use that does the same thing, it it just a steel pin or is there a sleeve round it?
-
spread sawdust on the driveway so the customer can get grip for tyres etc, it worked for us last week, had a bit of an awkward client who was very pleased with the newfound grip provided and he said he would be happy to sweep up when the ice melted:thumbup1:

everytime i drop a log and trap my finger it gets really warm a minute later, try getting someone to drop a log on yer foot, or buy a larger boot for your freakishly large left foot:001_smile: seriously though maybe you could try stretching your left boot a bit with one of them shoe stretching jobbies?

the climbing/cutting isn't a major problem, just the logistics of getting vehicles kit to jobsites and arisings away, i had a trailer with 2t of logs on board try to overtake the landrover lastyear on black ice.. serious underpant soup moment! sometimes its better to have a few days off and stay safe:001_smile:

racing at night is much better anyways, 4am the roads are dead:001_smile:

whats the speed limit on the humber bridge for a truck skidding a log?
-
also if you are standing about for any length of time try to stand on something like a mat/cardboard/plank/sawdust etc instead of concrete/ice, it makes a massive difference:001_cool:

when it happens next pull the boot off and hold in front of the chipper exhaust for a minute or so, it'll fill with lovely hot air:thumbup1:, don't let your feet/hands etc get too cold, stop before its too late and sort it out, my right foot gets cold when driving as its close to the legendary landrover door seal, its worse when theres an inch or two of snow on my boots.. ice blocks.

leave the dogs in the cab dean, mine always go for my seat given a choice:thumbup: mike the one that heats the water would be cool, mmm a nice warm heater first thing in a morning:thumbup1:

just sitting down with a lovely pint of tea:thumbup:, well done mate:thumbup1:

theres a load of people falling at the mo, we saw an old guy proper slap and banged his head on the road lastweek:thumbdown:, the missus rang me two days ago from sainsburys to tell me she'd falled on the ice and landed on two bags of bottles on the way to the bottlebank, she had broken a couple of bottles and was on the way to A+E, xrays and stuff later and she is all bruised and still not able to drive:thumbdown:, i don't mind the stuff, its usually me making a slide across the carpark:thumbup:

sounds a bit poor to me, don't forget batteries don't like sitting on cold hard surfaces, treat them to a handy bit of board for insulation,
-
maybe i should have called it the last twig?
that pop looked a monster.. a good 12footer at least:thumbup:
-
it'll only charge up if the socket with the grey cap is plugged in, the other one only does the lights:001_smile:

is there another tool apart from chainsaws and hammers?
cable ties:thumbup:, all the best mike:thumbup1:

my day started bad too, landy wouldn't start as i'd left the alternator wire connected all weekend, tried the chipper battery on it but it wasn't man enough so started it using the disco battery, then the dumper wouldn't start so after pouring boiling water on various padlocks i got the shed open and enough wires to use the womans hairdryer down the air intake to get it started, all set just intime to hit rush hour traffic..
finally got to the yard over an hour late to be met by a lovely cup of scalding tea, thanks nick:thumbup:

My dad was driving as we both go beating duringthe pheasant season. Going out to the same place tomorrow. And as you can probably imagine the roads havent been gritted. There aren't even any grit bins on the estate.
at least instead of hitting the hedge tomorrow he can just aim for the new gap:001_tt2:

learn to jump!
i had a go with the stein stick and its pretty good, extends easily and does the job, then gets in the way:001_tt2:

We got alot left in Dorset. Most of it has become ice. The untreated roads have become ice rinks. There is tons of black ice. We found a few bits today n hedged the defender twice. The second time we hedged it we went straight thru.
is that the royal we?

could make a sweet go-cart track on that bad boy:thumbup:

there's always lucozade sport lurking in the cab somewhere, then a 2ltr water bottle (2 in summer) the stove died last winter so hot drinks are on the client, if working local the woman brings drinks in the hotmugs.. i miss the stove (meths burner) and need to replace it:001_smile:
-
if i'm on the ground and there's a top being dropped out i'll try to record it, to me it signals a breathing point when soon the chipper can be turned off and we can have a mini break:001_smile: cue the tea signal to the client:thumbup:[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHZaG4DfImU]YouTube - My Movie 4[/ame]
