  1. ok sorry, i'll stop making a big fuss over normal things:blushing:
  2. or clean the air filter, it makes a big difference.. sounds like its choking up:thumbup:
  3. no but they were both sycamores haha, maybe i'm wrong (wouldn't be the first time)
  4. a simple lever that locks onto the outer toothed wheel from the frame would work as a nice handbrake, keep it simple and it'll work for years to come:thumbup1:
  5. ok thanks, is there any reason for it? maybe blocked lenticells? was talking about this with a mate and we have both seen syccies of all sizes with smooth bark and then ones with the plated bark, whats the significance? or am i expecting too much from trees?
  6. i could have done with that:blushing:
  7. looked sound up there rob, guess we'll know when it leaf's up soon.
  8. not a bad price for a machine that hates mud, was that the same one you recovered with a tractor last week too? (not that i can talk haha)[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvMJV61UOrE]YouTube - Arbtalk climbing day 13/11/10[/ame]
  9. depends what rims you have dude:001_cool:
  10. whoa kev, these are different tyres to lastyears muddy fail but equally useless:thumbup: not bad for a set of four on rims for £50 off a mate:biggrin:
  11. thought you guys might like this, i know kev did:thumbup: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOe-_Imh6yE]YouTube - muddy fail 2[/ame]
  12. 1st pic-its the tree on the right, 2nd pic-bark on floor from this week, 3rd pic-base of tree, i'll nip back and get better pics of stem (it looks loads worse at the other side). if i remember right where the bark had come off it was reddish and cracked into small blocks (like tiny pear bark).
  13. but can i justify a tpo application to remove it based on the findings so far? why is the bark peeling more than usual?
  14. oh its TPO'd and has a couple of houses it would take out if it wanted, i originally went to look at it because it was groaning (in pain haha), that was quickly diagnosed as rubbing branches which are coming off when the wind/rain goes away along with a few dead lumps.
  15. i know syccies peel a bit when they get a bit bigger than saplings but i've noticed it a lot more this last year, i've just been to look at a 110dbh tree thats lost so much it looks like a kiddies playground around it with so much bark on the deck, the tree seems healthy but has loads of reaction growth at the base about two years old and a bit of a basal bulge, previously crown lifted by builders to about 40ft.. is it trying to tell me something? Ed.
  16. bought a book called foresters of scotland and that had a whole section on the canadian loggers as well as the other drafted in guys, its a good read with plenty black and white pics
  17. dean stop being a wingey and go make the yard more secure, i agree with taking them to court but don't imagine it'll come to much, the folk who took the reg number will have to give a statement to the police like you have and be prepared to go to court too, toyota would be breaking the data protection act if they gave you the details (unless you misled them), get off arbtalk and go stake out the yard ready for vigilante justice
  18. there was over 1kg worth of pens/coins/keys/receipts behind the original dash
  19. haha dashboards are overrated.. i have bags of legroom. here's my latest dash (200tdi)
  20. like when the wife is towing you across a main road at rush hour:thumbup: i'll say no more
  21. like all them in the solway firth that are ready for falling over? the tide washing the sand round the bases has made a depression in front and behind them.. i wouldn't go within falling distance of them for fear of being blended.
  22. got an eye full of sawdust this morning so im typing one-eyed, i mean.. just when you think its safe to open your eyes the wind plays a dirty trick like that
