It didn't stop them stealing our large plant. They took 2 John Deere tractors, less than a year old and 1 had a long low loader on the back and the other had our big Heizohack on it. We found them missing less than an hour after they were taken. The police didn't want to know as long as they were insured. I'm sure in they'd sent up a helicpoter they would have spotted them, it would have been holding up traffic somewhere!! If it had been a teenager joyriding they would have had a helicopter up!! Sorry to hear about your break in.

I don't know whether anybody here is interested but we are going to start clearing tree surgeon's yards of waste logs for Biomass. We have done it before but had to stop due to winning a large contract. Now that we are sorted we are trying to build up our stocks again. We just wan't to see what sort of interest we would get from here. Many thanks

This is him at work in the snow a couple of weeks ago, he's quite happy just to jump back into his bed and sleep till lunch time then.

I've got a 5 month old working cocker spaniel and he's been coming to work with me since he was 3 months old. I let him out when I got to work and then put him in a crate in the car. I let him out every couple of hours for run and he soon got used to it. I keep his fluffy bed in the crate with a bowl of water. Now I can't get near the front door without him wanting to come with me.

It's public liability, employers liability, all of the tractors, diggers, chippers and other machinery but I'm sure we could get it cheaper. I was about to start looking around for other quotes anyway.

We have got the day of from Gloucester today but still have 3" of it here in Reading. Hopefully by magic it will be gone tomorrow!!

Thanks for all the PM's. Instead of answering all individually, I hope to put all the answers here!! If anybody wants to buy some timber, we've got around 150 tonnes of cored wood for sale. It's mainly Sycamore, Ash and a little bit of Cherry. There's more Sycamore than anything. It's roughly 6-7ft in length and varies in diameter. Only felled 6 weeks ago. Ideal for next seasons firewood (or this seasons if desperate!!!). £30/tonne collected. We are not interested in haulage so any buyers must arange this themselves. We do have a processor but already have around 750 tonne of firewood ready for this year and next year and are still producing more!! We are updating our website at the moment so will put it up on the posts when its sorted. Everything on the website has changed so much in the last couple of years. Thanks for the advice.

This is our first season doing logs as a sideline. It's taking over all of our spare time!!! Have spent all of today delivering in the snow and the damn phone won't stop ringing. Bloody logs!!

When we shear it up I will take some pics or a video to show you. It should be back with us sometime next week all being well.

We had the excavator behind the tree as a precaution. We also had a winch cable which if you look carefully you can see on a machine out in the field. All the weight was on the side that it was going to be felled on and all our machine operators arevery experienced in forestry.
