I have had this problem in the past. It tends to happen more often with timber with a high moisture content. If you make sure there is plenty of air flow around the bags then they should be ok. You may still find a few logs in the middle of the bag with mould. I just put them in a separate bag and a few days later the mould will be gone.

For me using a bench grinder is the way to go. Easy to use, gives a great sharp finish and its quick and easy to use. I have found that there is no need to buy an expensive one. Spend £40 to £60 and you will soon get your money back on the time you save.

that is the other option i am looking at. not sure the best way to go at the moment. Got a log grab so its easy for me to just lift full length on to a log splitter

anything over 40 cm up to 70cm
