  1. Good trucks, but check the weight for license purposes.
  2. Firewood in return for a yard? Some annual tree/fencing work?
  3. Sounds like ££££££'s If your setting up a new yard, try and get the right location for the future expansion of your business. Time spent now is money saved later. Look for old dairy farms, they usually have redundant buildings/yard spaces.
  4. You broke the wall! Only joking, nice machine!
  5. The squished beaver is still in operation! Good course, learnt a few new things to include in my RA's. What a drive though......phew! Need a brummie friend for future Stoneliegh Park visits, sleeping in the car from 2 in the morning till 7 night before the course is NO GOOD! Was good to meet a few new faces, the guys from Adrian Hope tree surgery and P. Chaffin tree surgery as well as Edd and Paul, two guys working through their instructor tickets. Nice to meet them all! Doug Blease
  6. I wouldnt mind making you an offer but I have a few other things on my christmas list just now. If you havent sold it by the new year I will make you an offer as I am on a Bat course in March. Doug Blease
  7. Hi Gavin, That is some serious sign writing. I know you got it for free because of the grammatical errors but did you not have to accept a proof design first? What was the original quote for that kind of work? Also, who hands out "The best tree surgeon in sussex" award? Is it the Bognor Observer? Only pulling your leg. I know some pretty good tree guys down there, you must have some hot competition! Doug Blease
  8. Jamie, Knowing how safe you guys are to work with I am sure you had it covered. If you have too divert from your generic RA or the AFAG guidelines, all you have to do is address it in a site specific RA and make sure you and Kevin have agreed that your alternative method is a safe method. Doug
  9. Nice one Jamie! THe green machine looks cool with the winch on!
  10. Umm, yep? I suppose I will! I have trapped a roe deer in a Larch before, but never squished a beaver!
  11. £140 i think. £170 if your not a member. Hope its not too dull.......what am i saying ITS A RISK ASSESSMENT COURSE! Its a fair drive, especially as I have to be in Edinburgh the next day.
  12. I am off to do the AA risk assessment course this week. Has anyone done it? What can I expect? Is anyone from here going (Stoneliegh, Tuesday 24th)? DB
  13. Sold and never collected? Get an offer in and haul it to your nearest biomass man.
  14. I reckon over the years I have heard an equal amount of good reports and bad reports about greenmech. Never used one so cant comment. TW's are ok but dont even come close to the Jensens or TP's for longevity of service in my opinion. I hope that steve isnt right there mate, thats a pretty low move. Doug Blease
  15. I have worked on a LOT of Macrocarpa in a previous life. They are horrible to climb, very sticky, very dusty, sharp dead wood etc as I am sure you are aware. A good habitat for some small songbirds however, therefore if you have to take it down do so outwith the nesting period. Why not remove it and replace it with another juvenile tree after repairing the wall? Surely cheaper for your customer than engineering the wall and surrounding area? Doug Blease
  16. I wonder if they will use a crane to get the last few bits out?!?!?!?
  17. Climber must have had very near miss. Bad situation, hope no-one was injured.
  18. Just dont forget about the man trap next time you drop logs off!!
  19. Would work well if you could supply a Farm 2000 biomass burner. Have heard of balers working on clearfell sites once the harvester has left.
  20. Beautiful....
  21. Thats a shame. Sounds like no one else knows that you do offer this service?
  22. I sat it recently and failed one part of the assessment. I found the course EXTREMELY interesting. Am due to resit it very soon.
  23. Thanks Giorgio. I enjoyed the video. Please post more. Doug Blease
  24. Ideal species! I am sure there is a member not so far from you who might look at it for you. Sustainability is the key! Not a free for all. Look after your biodiversity. Enjoy your woodland! Lots more than just firewood. Edible mushrooms (read up on this too), wild game, leisure time, woodland crafts..... Loads of fun!
  25. How do you want to record them? Post code? Whats your opinion on seed collecting from good genetic stock. Do you have any experience of this?
