vibrating off, not looose...

I had this prooblem many moons ago, can't remember exactly but think it was coondensation in the vickers unit. Bypass it by joining the two wires together like High Scale suggests, to eliminate the possibility. Also recall having problems with the female spade end connectoor on the back oof the ignition switch vibrating loose.

I've had my Stihl HS85 with 1.1m bar now for 10+ years now and still going strong after muchoos abuse. Used to use one before that too with old boss and can't beat 'em.

Try soaking your jammed knots in a bucket of water for a few hours...

In the past i have introduced a lump of wood or smthg solid into a fig.8 or bowline on the bight - makes it much easier to loosen up. Hoow about splicing a large dia. heavy duty prussik loop, never tried but might work also..?

is it not possible to snatch down as low as poss then chog off remaining onto crash mats; the shorter the pole gets the more control and accuracy you have with the discs? As least if you do bust smthg its only the folks you will have to answer to

Depends what suits you, not whether its still used or not. I like it personally its what I learnt on, has stiffer properties than the modern and takes some work to coil to avoid twists and kinks. Much better than the multi-plait (stretchy boingy mare to splice stuff) but modern cordage is the way forward what with todays mechanical devices. Like Pete I still use it for lanyards and have even made a few split tails with it.

Hey folks, I'm new here! I'm after someone to work along side me at a private villa near Monaco. The property is 2.5 hectares and home to many pines, olives, citrus, fruit and ornamentals native to the Meditteranean, South Africa and Australia. The garden is mature and has been neglected for three years so it is a bit of a salvage project. The position offered is full time under basic French contract for an initial period of six months, with the possibility of becoming full time permanent at the end of the six months if all goes well. A bit of an all rounder who has the Arb experience under their belt and may have started out as a gardener / landscaper would be ideal. The job itself will be maintaining the tree / shrub / plant collection and lawned areas. We are also going to install a pottager so experience in this would be a bonus.
