  1. I have a 3 way tipping muller with an Altas 80.1 mounted on the drawbar. 8 tonne metre 2 Hydraulic extensions. King Pin Seat. Pipped for Grapple and rotator. It's 16 tonne on super singles. 55 mph. Air Brakes. Adjustable drawbar height. It's the right height for the Rockinger Hitch, but you could weld on a hitch below for a pick up hitch. The outriggers act as landing legs, so when your hitching up, you adjust the outriggers depending on the load in the mog. I'm using it with the mog hydraulics, but it has a tank and and I have a speed up box for the rear PTO, but it needs a pump for that. I've used it for forestry forwarding, but only when ground conditions are relatively good. Great in fields etc. If you want I can send you pictures. Ta.
  2. Many Disc Chippers are designed for crane feeding. With a good operator even the ones that aren't are ok. (You keep the grip very loose with the grapple, so that the tree slides in the grapple rather than putting stress on the roller bearings etc.)
  3. I have a Heizohack HM 6-300 for sale. For either front mount on mog or rear 3 point link. [email protected] 00 353 830098738

You've got to take into account the fact that you can put a big chipper on the mog for less money than a small tow behind costs. Then your powering that with a 100-200 hp engine. You'll be hard pushed to make your no stress kick in. Then your not towing a trailer. You completely fill the box with chip so it holds loads more than a transit. You can get in places you wouldn't believe. The small ones have got the same turning circle as a London Taxi (nearly). If you register it as a Agricultural Machine rather than a tractor they will have great difficulty prosecuting you for running on red depending on if you can call your work forestry or not. There is a very good s/h parts network for mogs. Some parts are very cheap, e.g. new disks for brakes £100. If you keep on top of them they're very reliable. If you look after them they do not depreciate. Your skills as a mechanic will improve.
  5. Just wondering if anyone is still selling parts for Pika or Pinox harvesters / forwarders. Any ideas?
  6. There is such a thing as Horticultural Die, made pretty much for that purpose.
  7. IN this case ladder. Our electricity company only lets us use buckets aadjacent to Low Voltage Not Medium Voltage, insulated booms or not.

Would Salt really kill the whole root system of a Black Poplar?
  9. I would be if the owner didn't object.....
  10. Will topping a Monkey Puzzle kill it (1/5 of Height 6m High) ? I know it will completely destroy the branch structure but it's 0.5m from a Medium Voltage Line and would be pruned every 4 years there after. I suspect it wouldn't. Any ideas?
  11. Hilux. They don't give trouble.
  12. If it's an emergency I wouldn't worry about burning your split tail / prussic whatever. You can always bye a new one when you get out of hospital.
  13. Would totally disagree with the idea that tree gaffs are better than pole gaffs. The only time tree gaffs are better are if your felling a Wellingtonia; rest of the time you feel like a ballerina.
  14. Hi, Looking for an experienced groundsman or trainee climber. Might consider an experienced climber. ESB induction would be an advantage. Clonakilty, West Cork, Ireland. Contact Rob 00 353 8300 98738
