Thanks everyone for all the great feedback! I had a feeling a few people would feel cheated about the lack of close up orang-utan. We saw one mother and baby orang-utan in the wild whilst we were there. You can see the moment in the video but unfortunately the gopro has no zoom and it was a long way away. Tony got a couple of pics on his phone but the quality was pretty bad. Either way it was an incredible moment that made the trip for us! Hello arbtalker's, I was lucky enough to be involved in a project with Sawpod to teach HOCRU (Human Orangutan Conflict Response unit) modern tree climbing and aerial rescue techniques to aid their ongoing work in Sumatra to save orangutans that come into conflict with humans or deforestation. Sometimes it is necessary for them to dart the orang-utan, sending it to sleep, often up in the canopy of a tree and then bring them down to relocate them. The techniques we taught them will hopefully make this process faster, safer and more efficient for the team and the orangutans. I put this edit together with the footage I got from the trip. If your anywhere near a shop that sells sailing supplies you can normally find ball stops that are the exact size you need and they're pretty cheap. They'll probably have some nice thin cord for it too

Had the privilege of climbing with the 53 year old south African legend leon visser last year and watching him regularly footlock 20m+ ascents on a single line in chainsaw boots was both inspiring and pretty humbling. Absolute beast, If I have half the energy and enthusiasm that he has when I get to that age ill be a happy man! massive respect to anyone who keeps climbing as a lifelong career

Most memorable ones so far have been judas priest, napalm death (in a tiny venue), three inches of blood, whitesnake, ozzy and of course slayer are always awesome! Bit different to those bands but matisyahu was awesome live and going to the reggae sumfest in Jamaica was a great experience. Off to see motorhead and saxon together in November and cannot wait!

Hi Ben, sounds like a great trip. I've only fired the 10 from a big shot so not sure with the 8 but I don't think you should have a problem getting around that kind of height depending on wind etc with a fully stretched bigshot. Take a spare bigshot rubber though as it kills them pretty quick being stretched out like that.
