  9. Watched the storm approach from afar....then got hit.....it was great.
  10. Out back between the Round pond, the Old Earthworks and The Elfin Oak. Middle of those 3 points. Very busy area. I'll ask him. Quite high in tree.....barely visible from the ground unless you knew it was there. Worked on the tree taking weight off the opposite side of tree due to severe lion tailing as a result of some shocking tree work in the past.
  11. Thanks David.....better let Mike know about it then as its righ outside Kensington Palace!!! Limb quite big....What would be the spec.....end weight reduction?
  12. Found this today on a big Ash in Kensington Gardens. The fruiting body was quite moist to the touch and had what appeared to be last years fruiting bodies in the foreground. What is it? What effect does it have on wood?
  13. That is a fantastic photo mate.......you have set a high standard from the off. Nice one!
  14. This is the host.......a red oak. This limb failed about a year ago. Targets none as in a very secluded spot in the park. The limb above this one has a big split as well. As the tree is not of any significance with regards targets Royal Parks will not be concerning themselves with regards decay assessment.. There are some small new fruiting bodies on another buttress crease now.

  22. Mash up some sea salt, garlic and parsley in a pestle and mortar. Rub lots of it into a nice fillet of cod or smoked haddock Beat a couple of eggs (as an omelette) Dip the fish into the egg. Shallow fry. Bloody lovely. Can use chicken or pork escallops too and just as nice.
