  1. i take it the clip of me felling out my top didnt make the cut then you should stick up some of the good pics ian
  2. i think its more who wants to see a video of someone takeing a couple of foot off the end of a branch it would make for a pretty boring video.
  3. that was you ian you were obviously way to excited and couldnt tell what was what
  4. ooo yes i turned up ian showed me what we were doing my reply was " crash crash crashity crash"
  5. couldnt straight fell them cause one way was garage and the other way was there boundary fence
  6. 14 in total not many really just the stuff close to the garage
  7. day with ian flatters today felling and halfing pines in a woodland behind a petrol station, easy day good job camaratastic [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_0MpEpbI8Y]YouTube - woodland pine felling[/ame]
  8. hi jonathan the branches at the top were cut and chuckable but the branches were covered in slime and we had a day to remove it it just wasnt worth the risk, also slows down work so groundy isnt swamped on the floor as for the sink cuts only thing i can think is habit of doing it on almost everything, plus when im recording i try my best to be by the book as it were cheers for watching though cheers for that gibbon, ive got reg coates coming to help me on my first crane job end of april so ill learn a lifes worth from him
  9. not quite as wide as this one i did for ian flatters 1day this week horrible things pic taken from about 2/3 the way along it
  10. i knew the cherry wobbled a hell of alot when i took the first peice off and the video proves it solid that cherry was
  11. ahhh the old list hey lol how did you get on today with the coro cuts was it easy to get around like i said?
  12. so why dont you finish early go shopping on the way home couple of beech trees reduced today nice easy day, apart from high winds
  13. lol should be easy, very easy tree to get around apart from the ivy nothing under it so you will have fun
  14. ahhh i left a nice anchor point for you up that oak neil
  15. i would remove the whole tree or leave it alone and cobra brace the limb in question. horse chestnut do not like being wounded at the best of times let alone a wound the size of what that would leave. i would bet money if you take that limb off you will be back to clear up the whole tree as its failed in a few years
  16. i herd all about that, light reduction come down, customer sends you back up heavy reduction come down, customer sends you up for a pollard unfortunatly happens alot but there we are pays the bills glad your getting more confident.
  17. nice one neil hard to tell with all the conifers in the back but looks good you will soon be doing them reductions in seconds
  18. shouldnt have dropped it out the top of that tree i say gareth not that you have
  19. got home couple hours early today so thought id go down the garden and give my ash tree a little tickle all round
  20. if i can afford it its definetly the way to learn, ill give you a call in the week
  21. i have got the job, its provisionally booked in for 26th april. so are you offering to show me in person or have i taken this the wrong way, cause that would be a oppotunity to good to miss if so.
  22. only thing im not 100% sure about is positioning of the crane hook in relation to the limb your cutting off, do you want it exactly ontop of it or do you have it slightly off so as the limb is cut off it moves slightly away from you. obviously you dont want dramatic movement. other than that it seems pretty straight forward tieing up to balance it and the big thing not cutting to big a bit off.
  23. cheers for that reg means alot comeing from you, hopefully wont begin to flag i still love trees, got my first job i quoted in a crane for so ive been picking up tips from your vids, so video of that will be up end of april time as for the video, i see where your comeing from watching some of that guys videos there alot more customer friendly. ill have to get back to the drawing board and see what i can make up.
