  1. Ive used both day in day out there isnt a noticable difference its the same infeed shoot just classed as 1 inch more and has abit more power, its like the 190 ive used that its not that noticable unless your sticking alot of timber through them. The 125 is definetly under estimated by alot of folks.
  2. Got to be timberwolf for me 125 or 150 but i really think the 125 is best outta the two because of the price difference is massive for not alot more chipper.
  3. Anyone had a bonfire on the side that is brown?
  4. Exactly mark id rather not have this job its alot of hassle but ive been wanting to get work with this stately home for ages ill give them a price my gut feeling is they will do it them selfs and it will be fine but im not willing to risk it they can crack on! My missus's dad is manager at road maintence company hes been telling me advice said ring up the council if im lucky they might even send the police out to close the road for half hour. See what i can sort out
  5. Ive shown a good mate of mine experienced forester he said its pretty well balanced he says it would fell easy enough but he said the same as me its not worth the risk im all for stunt fells etc but if that went backwards no questions about it someone would be killed that is a very busy major road cars and lorrys all doing 60-70 plus there.
  6. Ive got a thick heavy duty rope i bought specially for tractor pulls last time i had a job like this, i have got some pics of the tree but they wont upload for some reason says some message about security or something like that
  7. thats what i was originally thinking of doing dan, but if the worst does happen and it does go back onto the road it could cause alot of time people waiting and getting more angry waiting for us to clear the road. im just thinking the worst case really it probs would be fine and fell into the road put you never no if a rope breaks, how rotten the center is hinge snaps gust of wind. etc etc ive got a experienced forester im working for tomorow were driving past it so hes going to have a look for me if its fellable he reackons then no worries ill go for the fell.
  8. If 1 lane was closed ideally 2 i could go up the road side stem and strip all the back leaning weight off, which is probs the way im going to have to do it i think. The estate just wanted me to straight fell it and leave it they bring tractor to pull it. I said its to risky, it would be fine but i cant take that risk it will need road closed to fell it straight, but it seems will be more cost effective to dismantle it with 1-2 lanes closed off
  9. i was thinking to my self that its going to be a nightmare and didnt think you would be able to close the road completely easily, maybe it would be better to close one lane of traffic and dismantle the road side till it will definetly fell the other way, would that be any cheaper do you think? and easier to sort out? they want it sorted out asap as if it was to fail or shed a limb its in a exposed hill top with just open fields infront of it, has a history of big limbs dropping off it. now they have had the survey they will be liable for anything etc etc. thanks for your input
  10. Hi all just been asked by a local estate if i can fell a large ash as there latest tree survey said it needs to be felled. About 5/6ft across at the base all dead apart from a few suckers dotted around it. Its a couple of meters away from a major A road 3lane job. Its really weighted towards the road. We have access to a big tractor to pull it over (if all goes well) i wouldnt be happy about doing it without the road closed totally though! Soy questions are how easy is it to get a major road closed totally for half hour? What sort of price would i be looking at for traffic control? Cheers guys
  11. No i was working for gareth smith i forget the clients name he was the land owner also did some hornbeam dismantles over his bungalow opposite the woods
  12. I only bought the quad cuz it was local brand new and my missus wanted a quad bike again and i wanted a new toy so its not for work really but on that site i only need saw and fuel so easy to fit on it
  13. this is the one i did awhile back with a silky 5 stitches to put it back together i dont mind stitches but the anisetic thing they use to try and numb the finger is awful they pump so much fluid in the finger i thought it was going to explode.
  14. Tell me about it its been ages since ive cut myself with a silky though touch wood ive learned its not good fun silky cuts moved onto clean cut secateurs instead
  15. Mine was a secateur cut as i said ive done couple other fingers with a silky though its not pretty 5 stitches was last time i cut my finger with a silky. Them strips are very good to have in the first aid kit as are the special finger bandages you can buy.
  16. I was up a cherry reducing it all round all secateur work just happened to catch my finger aswell oppps
  17. Ive felled some big ash trees on the edge of them woods before subbing. nice woods if i remember right.
  18. Had a few stitches from various silkys nasty things im always real careful with them now and havent cut my self in ages with one touch wood. I did however last week cut my finger to the bone with a pair of felcro secateurs! now that bled like ive never seen before.
  19. nice vid i prefer the mega awesome tree swing vid you have though
  20. Sounds a nice place and great project to be involved in im hopeing this will go the same way to where it should have got to in the first place with benches maybe bird hide and kept tidy turn it from nothing into a village space.
  21. Just got mine out it goes round smooth but it makes a clicking sound which is normal, how do you think its running rough?
