  1. guy i do alot of work for got this truck this year
  2. tell me bout it i arrived on site at 9.30am thought be easy saturday job little did i know id b working till 5.30pm still not complaining got sum good work and the guys a handyman/gardener on some big estates and farms and said to me hes sure he will be able to get me loads more work so all good
  3. after having very limited amount of work things are looking up got phone call yesterday can i come fell a couple of dead hawthorns so went there today felled them they obviously thought i was good at what i was doing so they said could i dismantle this 100ft popular gave them price said thats fine done it they were well impressed so they said come back and dismantle two 90ft ash trees and a 30ft holly and a 70ft oak tree so im right chuffed with my self finally got sum decent looking work comeing in
  4. the job was to reduce the crown by nearly 50% if i remember right so it was ment to be rounded but they tell me what to do and i cant disagree they pay me at end of day i just wanted know what other people thought about this subject thats all
  5. things like this reduction last year to me this isnt a good or finished job but customer was happy company who got this job told me where cut it said it was finished and to come down and they were happy with it
  6. basically me up the tree they tell me where they want me cut it i do what they wanted but where they wanted me cut it makes it looks a mess
  7. point i have is that if i leave a tree looking awful its still me that was up the tree and done it and its my name on my t-shirt so i dont want people thinking that this is my idea of a finished job just wondered how everyone else felt about it
  8. thats what i have been doing just going along with it just wondered if anyone did job till they were happy with it them selfs
  9. what do you people do if youre subbed into do the climbing like a reduction and the company your working for say the finished job is spot on but youre not happy with how it looks what do you do???
  10. cheers ive got the 12volt oregon sure sharp one for actually on site sharpening but im after a bench mounted one for back at workshop really for takeing the main use for all my sharpening
  11. is it easy enough to set up cause i no some of the grinders ive seen have loads knobs that turn and adjust but never no what they do i havent seen the oregon one only in photos i guess once you get it set up its easy to use

  13. just cause since i got my husky 3120 with 42inch bar and 30inch just takes me ages to sharpen and often big chains 1 side will b slightly sharper than other side and ive got 5 saws keep sharp just be easier and outcome will be alot sharper if i get one
  14. am interested in buying a bench mounted chain sharpener i no oregon do a good one but i saw the price tag and wondered if any body has any good easy sharpeners or should i just save up and buy oregon one cheers
  15. cheers i wont give in without a fight i mean even if i have join forces and keep my hand in at weekends at least i could come back to it that way still lots people in worse position than me i spose least i havent got to many bills or a morgage to pay or debts yet
  16. theres a few jobs going on there ive contacted a few but no luck so far got one job accepted when i traveled to lincoln nd back every day for 3 months but that was a very bad experience with that company hope there not all like that company knocked my confidence abit bein told i wasnt good enough all time and yet every1 else ive worked with says im alright
  17. ive got advert in local mag had a few jobs frm it but nothin tht pays really ive contacted all firms in county with cv and phoned them up at least twice each still nothing problem i have is i could advertise more but then i have problem of i dont have chipper get rid of stuff and i cant afford all insurance costs or the running costs of a chipper for the amount of work that i would get so im stuck and i really dont want to give up ive tryed getting part time bar work etc to help but no luck got my parents on my back saying i need more work and i cant keep goin doin sumtimes couple days sumtimes no days a week what can i do
  18. ive tryed traveling ive contacted all firms even some quite far away i used to get up at 4.30am drive to 70miles to lincoln and drive back home never got home before 10pm did that for 3 months everyday but now theres just nothing really nothing i dont want to give it up but i just cant stick with my income at the moment its not enough
  19. unfortunatly going to have to give up tree surgery i think been scraping through for 3 years now but the resession has finally really done it which really sucks basically all ive earned ive spent on equipment so close to setting up on my own but i sub to both of the tree companys in the area and there dryed up so looks like im gunna have to join forces or something

  21. was my bday yesterday was 19. happy bday ur self.
  22. got home from work and my birthday cake was sitting there must have taken my misses ages to make it only thing is she made a stihl not husqvarna
  23. neither get hot enough with out hot drinks cant stand them
