  1. i just did the CAD module. you dont need a license if its for studying. just downloaded a free 30 day trial version.
  2. good stuff. i lost count of the amount of people who i met out there whove done what youre planning to do. Olly, the landscape manager is an english chap who took his wife and kids over there and built his own house in picton. same with tim but hes pretty much fully fledged kiwi now. Perfect place to bring up kids. The marlborough sounds are paradise, if your into boats/fishing/diving/beeches/walking/cycling etc. so so many big and beautiful trees. getting a bit nostalgic now.

i had to do a presentation on working out there for college which ill email to you if your interested.

    good luck

  5. yeh 8 months i worked for him. came back to finish my degree. wish id stayed to be honest.

Davids alright, as is tim. looks after his workers well and always had alot of work on when i was there. We worked all over marlborough, including out on the sounds which was fantastic. Mainly domestic but alot of street/park trees and site clearance etc. not much utility work as that all went to marlborough lines. Hes got some good kit too- loader, fleet of three truck and chipper set ups, two bucket trucks, stumpies etc.

I lived in picton as i personally preferred it to blenheim but that whole region is beautiful, as you probably know.

yep, loved it. defo recommend it, all the lads there were great. really miss it.

let us know how you get on

  7. thanks for the reply. can you be sure thats what it is from that photo though? might it not just be bat turd? is there a simple way of testing what the cause of it is? thanks
  8. you see a lot of this stuff but can anyone tell me what it actually is/causes it? black, tar like substance coming out of an old pruning wound. is it just moisture and general dirt/sap? or something more sinister? cheers
