  1. I'm surprised you use a video, trying to sell your product to professional users, where the person in the video is not wearing proper PPE. Looks good if you do lots of hedge trimming though.
  2. My l200 has hooks, 1 in each corner of the bed, liner has been trimmed to get to them easier.
  3. These look really good How hard is it to control the speed of larger branches? Do you get lots of vibrations?
  4. I've got a 346xpg 15" bar. Love it! light, VERY good vibrations ,heated handle, powerful (for a small saw) and cuts quickly. May not feel as solidly built as a Stihl but i can't comment on reliability/life as i have not had it long.

Thanks, my college has taught me most of what i need to know... but never got told the names of different cuts... Thanks, Charlie.
  9. Thanks for the reply, there is a good vacancy on the direct.gov website, and i will contact fountains. Thanks, Charlie.
  10. I live in North West Essex and looking for a job in the Arb industry. I'm just about to finish my college course, and i'm looking for any work- full time, part time, groundie or climber. I'm hard working and ambitious, looking to work for a reputable firm within an hours drive. Please PM me if you know of any opportunities in this area, or if you want to know any more details. Charlie.

Sorry to sound stupid but what are these cuts!? anywhere that explains?
  12. Thats what i thought! Thanks for your advice charlie
  13. Thanks. Good friend of my mums so would like to help her... It may be 'owner unknown', a few years ago they asked the Tree officer if the council could do something about the trees thinking it was council land but its not, thought to be owned by the developer (its in-between 2 housing estates). Will get them to ask, so if land registry says no one owns it its ok to do any work? They did have some legal advice a while ago and told to move their boundry back and claim it as theirs! There is one 'hazardous' tree, a dead 15 or 20 foot hawthorn but the rest are healthy. Thanks charlie
  14. ... going onto someone elses property and felling a tree? I'm thinking trespass and criminal damage? Not removing arisings so no theft. Possible prison, or just a big fine? Someone has asked me to remove a few trees from some wasteland next to their garden... i want to explain how serious it could be and why i don't want to do it... Thanks, charlie.
  15. Love my timberland anti vibe gloves. Just ordered a spare pair. I think they work very well
  16. I used to be a window cleaner, its not perfect but windows definitely need cleaning less often. Skyhuck - I thought you could work at any height on a ladder if its footed? And up to a certain height (2m?) unfooted. not sure
  17. The brushes on poles don't clean windows very well.... I believe building regs state all new windows have to be reachable from the ground, or have a special opening so you can clean them from the inside.
  18. interesting thanks, but i don't think i'd go to the lengths of importing one from the US! Thanks, Charlie
  19. Never read any of his books but didn't Shigo do a lot of research into different techniques flush cut, NTP and stubs etc?
  20. Just bring to celebration of trees for me please I might want some other stuff, i'll PM you and sort payment
  21. Very kind offer! I am, but will be helping out most the time, i was hoping to have decided on a saw and buy one at capel (will PM you) I have been given details of someone local to me who may be able to let me try one
  22. Thanks for the reply I'm trying to see if i can try one somewhere and make my own opinion i agree i think the 361 would be a bit big but the only other Stihl option with heated handle is the 260
  23. I'll be there, i'm a student and i've been roped into helping out both days! Steves right, go both days
  24. tree man tom - thanks thats interesting King- thanks, I can't find any G prices on the internet i'll have to ask a dealer... marc - both RSIs and whitefinger are problems with nerves, I guess keeping my hands warm would help with it? It does get worse in the cold weather. Are heated handles in both handles? I was looking at the 361 for exactly the reason you said, but STIHL quote slightly higher vibration Jamlala - How accurate are the vibration figures? it sounds like people have different opinions? You work for husky? does anywhere let me try a 346XPG? if you don't ask you don't get Whats splitting hairs? Its probably the most important feature of a saw to me... charlie H - thats interesting Anyone got opinions on how much of a difference 0.5kg makes when using a saw all day? Thank you, Charlie.
  25. Thanks for the replys Tree man tom- Thanks but I think the 441 is a bit big. Stihl claim the 341 is very low vibrations compared to the rest of their range, would you disagree, how accurate are the vibration figures? Joe - The 280 is meant to be about the same weight as the 341, but with less power so i think the 341 appeals to me more. Matty - I have used 1 husky, a 357, and wasn't that impressed, and the saw in question is very unreliable. the 346xp is a little temping though I think i'll stick to the company I know. just seen they claim to do the 'lowest vibration saw' I think its the 445, but its not in the professional range, would that be any good? king - thanks I have timberland gloves. Do husky do heated handles? Tom d - I won't buy a 357 Thanks for the advice, Charlie.
