  1. Morning! Another sick note from me, lurgy ended up being Covid!
  2. Not replacing the Avant, there’s now 3 in my network I can get anytime within a 30 minute radius with operators. Tbh my back can’t take the bouncing about, I can only manage about 3-4 hours on the digger now! So walking and Flailbotting it is.
  3. Evening gents, apologies for late reply to Flailbot questions. This was a 60HA regen site on top of peatland that’s due restoration work next year. The foresters and land managers had never seen a Flailbot working so we’re curious to see if 1 man could do it all with this machine. The answer was very obviously no upon the site visit. But while I was there why not have a demo anyway. Where I was parked was on the road at a big turning area so as you can imagine the ground either side of the road was rocky and like the moon with 10 years of regen! So I picked the biggest trees I felt were within the machines capabilities growing in the worst bits. The video doesn’t show how uneven the ground was. Anyhoo, after 10 minutes I put the machine back in the trailer and the powers above got a mental picture of what the machine can do, these guys manage millions of HA of land and there parting words were ‘ very impressed ‘ within 5 days I had a call to ask to quote the rd verges to that site. So a worthwhile visit and the start of hopefully a new adventure.
  4. Here! Forgot myself! Got 3 hours sleep and was like a busy ball this morning
  5. Morning, fresh crisp morning here! Jack daws are chatting and the Doves are pairing up again outside!
  6. Morning! Another thing, if you have any mates that are not themselves or gone a bit quiet give them a Pm, text, WhatsApp.
  7. Morning! I’ve had a few rough years personally and I know others have to and are currently going through hell just now. So just like school, let us know you’re up and with us! I’ll start! here!
  8. Gardening is renowned for its limiting career ladder!
  9. JDon you are doing it because life’s an adventure, you’re a gun for hire! The money covers your costs of living. Driving along an empty road early doors, the sharpness of the morning air, the mist rising off the hills, reflections on lochs the echo of the hammer hitting the wedges, another whack, another nibble of holding timber, braap braap of the throttle and then that CRACK!!! Scrambling over hag to get out the way excited and scared at the same time as a tree goes past the tickly bit, saw off, ear muff up and listen to the sound of her crashing onto the floor as she lays to rest! Gives me shivers! And then there’s glory when an old boy says ‘ nice job young man and shares his tales of adventures !’ Priceless, I can remember every pat on the back and compliment way more than any misery story! Commute to London 😂😂. Ooo the excitement!
  10. Mostly within 1-20 miles, once or twice a month I’ll be around 100 miles good money but a long day and usually off the next to recover.

  15. I find the Avant isn’t doing my lower back any favours on the bouncing about on jobs that are constant like flailing and landscaping, on tree work I’m on and off all day and don’t notice. Hoping the Flailbot works takes off and I’ll move the Avant on. Local hire guys just got a brand new 760 like yours so if needed I can get 1.
  16. Wow wow and wow!! 1 more wow! how did they make a leg out of that? That first picture should be on all Grinder operator handbooks cover! your made of strong stuff, amazing recovery!
