the client delt with the crane hire think he got it for £400 for the day. the client got the crane in to minimize damage and the folks across the way wanted the timber so crane was ideal no humping timber. just drop it out the sky in to the garden because of this the crane had to go full reach so we had to drop the timber in the clients driveway cut it up into one ton pieces then fly it over into the neighbouring garden. between doing this and killing a couple of chains it took most of the day no damage client happy and considering niether me or the crane driver had ever done this before every thing went great.

a job we done today a week ago we knocked out the crown and today we had the crane in to remove the chunky stuff. all round good day apart from the odd heavy thunder storm and lots of chainsaw killing metal chains bolts and not forgetting the stones burried in the timber. nukeing a spanking new chain on the 066
  21. be carfull with using the jack on heavy leans wise to also get a high anchor point for pull rope heard a story once with someone using a jack on a heavy leaner he put too much pressure on the hinge and the tree sat up and toppled backwards. no damage and no one hurt lucky:scared1:
  22. dito we have an ex army ground anchor think my boss got it from anchor supplies.com we have pulled some rather large leaning trees over with it god send for tricky fells
  23. we have also been noticing a decline in sorbus aucuparia in the past few months getting hit by target cankers ie nectria sp also the obvious bacterial tumours
  24. ha very funny. i did something similer myself my boss was telling me about a gardener that attacks every shurb with a hedge trimmer and we came across his nasty work one day. any way a few days later my boss was speaking to some guy in passing which turned out to be the very guy which i never knew and the time. some how the conversation topic was pruning so i had brought up the previous conversation that me and the boss had a few days before so am busy slating this poor mans workmanship and the boss's face just dropped. me being blonde never noticed and carried on slating him, on the way back to the van the boss dropped the bomb shell ow how silly i felt:blushing: he was peeing him self all the way home lol
