    Yeah I agree john. I would guess if you pay vat monthly on kit like I do you wont be a able to claim back. You flat rate or normal?

    Not if its on lease finance, you pay the vat monthly with your payment.

    Thought so I can see the advantage for punters and it spreads the extra between you and them. How dp you go on with say plant on finance though if you pay the v a t monthly? Can you not claim it back?

    On the flat rate you dont claim back on vatable items then am I right? John are you on flat rate or normal?

    Most of my competition is not vat either they have too work more to get the same amount money ss I claom 800 a month back! Dont worry about the competition worry about you.

    Don't see what's complicated about charging 20% and claiming 20% my accountant does it all for me.

    On fairness it depends on your business model, add up the vat you spend each month and you will be shocked, I spend about 800 a month on vatable goods so why not claim it back?

    Probably does sound harsh and yes I like customers being happy and yes they are valued but I aint really bothered if they don't like my businesses model.

    You only charge out at 5% I think but you cant reclaim vat. Dont see the point really.

    I went vat from jan this year hasn't bothered me at all, most of my domestic haven't really bothered, yes you loose the odd job and get the odd winge but thats life, I aint in business for my customers benefit only mine.
