  7. 35 years of drinking for me too Mick...unfortunately most of that was Binge drinking...most of it on my own in a dark room..and in a dark place mentally.I have an addictive personality and have never been able to respect alcohol. My last drink was 5 or 6 "Old Rosie's" Scrumpy (7.2 %) 4 or 5 large Whiskies (japanese Hibiki) and a few Jaegermeisters all consumed in a matter of only a few hours. Some people should keep away from Alcohol,i am one of them....
  8. Yeeeeaaaahhhhh!.....nothing beats the Silky Smooth action of a new saw.
  9. Shall correct that......."Good form is everything!" As i will now always say...[emoji6][emoji16][emoji16]

  11. Until now!.......been taught form before putting some weight on.
  12. One Corner of the Gym i have never been.......
  13. That combined with 14 months at the Gym has made me feel at the same fitness level as when i was 19 years old and Rowing for Durham.Difference is i was drinking and smoking then.......I feel damn good these days. The greatest overall feeling is that my brain power seems to be far greater. It's all working like never before.Feel quite powerful inside and out.
  14. Rupe,i have been completely T-total for nearly 13 months now.Not a single drop! I've survived 40th Birthday Celebrations.....Arbshow and APF....Xmas and New Year....i have no intention of ever drinking again.
  15. My Quads are fairly big and developed already.I used to row for my City then years of cycling long distances.Ttee work obviously helps weather especially being up on spikes..I am doing 10 mile bike rides at a good pace for my cardio.I shall certainly add the squat into my routine though Stihlmadasever[emoji963]️‍♂️
  16. Hey BoltJust been on the phone to Vince Holley. Some bloke. You were right about his positivity.Reminds me a bit of me! So he's e-mailing me the application form this afternoon as i am booking myself onto the four day training course.Closest is March so that gives me some more free time.So if anyone needs any help over the next few weeks....let me know.Until then it's back to the Gym.Need to be race fit at all times.
  17. Life is a learning curve!...and my brain is like a sponge.I have a wealth of knowledge and experience surrounding me at my Gym.The staff here from all iover (South Africa,Norway and the Good ol' U.S of A.) I would class them as my closest friends these days along with the folk on Arbtalk
  18. I'll listen to good advice when it's given. Thanks for that BigJ. I'm enjoying my pre workout then off the the Gym to try it out. Will report back[emoji106]
  19. I was steering clear of powerlifting.Remember i joined the Gym a year ago with the intention of losing a beer gut primarily.I Hit the Spinning bike only for one hour each night after work for about six weeks...The weight(2 stone) fell of in that time. The trainers there who have become my best friends suggested i might light to try the Cable machines which i did.I began to see a difference in my definition.By this time i had been off the drink for a couple of months. As i increased all my weights i started using the smith machine for shoulders, incline and flat press.Agai n i started seeing my definition sharpen,my fittness and strength increase and Happiness and well being go through the roof.....I have since moved to free weights and bench press and Dumbells are my favourite as i now understand about full range of motion and stabalisation....The squat rack is an area to which i have not ventured.
  20. Leg Extension machine. Haven't tried squats.
