  1. Hey Treespotter....... Morgen! I would say that Protos looks "Uitstekend!" it,s an eye catcher...i,m very jelous:001_rolleyes: we will see more and more Arborists using these in the future,,,i guarantee it:biggrin:
  2. Are you joining us for the Great Pre-Xmas Numbing, Dr TeePeeat?
  3. First job for the newbie an simple ariel rescue on a rather poorly silver maple...then the highlight of the day...the arrival or the shiney new stuff man from Buxtons(No pictures as i thought he might not appreciate me enthusiasticaly snapping away at stuff)..he showed us a electric Husky groundsaw...so futuristic to see the illuminated buttons pressed and the chain whizzing round silently...two modes...economy and normal...the new Edelrid "Core" harness....again,very futuristic looking with a built in "Stop"...Unfortunately i will have to wait until January to get my Tree motion..which isn,t the end of the world as i tried one last week and although it is a true innovation...for me it didn,t feel as suited to me as my Austria 2.......But he said i do have a new harness you can use until then....now this is the most bizzare part of the day ...hanging up in the Van of Shiney stuff is the brand new "TREE AUSTRIA 3.1":thumbup: you couldn,t predict my life these days:biggrin: performed a simple rescue to test it...such a familiar fit to me...except more refined than the Austria 2 and as anyone who is a fan of the Austria Harness will know, it,s featherlite and super comfortable:thumbup1: What an unexpected kinda day finnished off with the most delicious coffee and brownie i have ever tasted for the de briefing of the day with the team....and i got a Tuefelberger Cap! took the Austria 3 home to adjust it and generally check it out.......
  4. Will be good if you can make it JohnP:thumbup1: I like the sound of this "Black Rat" you speak of Bob...
  5. There will be many many pics...i,m a picture MANIAC!
  6. Think of Tucker,s as a kind of Arbtalk "Drop In Centre",so even if you are only able to drop in for one drink and say "Ello"...
  7. A Nice cold start to the morning...encourages hard work to get the blood flowing! a clear sky with the old moon lying in the arms of the new moon..i,m a morning person so i really get a kickstart from a good sunrise which it was as we stood in todays Park and enjoyed a morning coffee with the latest member of our team...
  8. I thought it said,"Johny Walker,your CHIP Box is full"
  9. When i first came to London i had already been using a throwbag for a couple of years...the first lead climber i worked with here used to say ,"We don,t have time to use one of those!" it used to take a few minutes to undo the triples from the rack...carry them to the tree and position them whilst they were footed until the climber was into crown break and then taking them down and out of the way...i now know from experience that the throwbag will be quicker in most cases and of course the climber is installed ready to work at any work station...why use airstreams over a pair of old Aquafell "Divers boot" with the sole hanging off or mechanical prussick?? why not use a silky for certain cuts that require dexterity or a hold?? "Havent got time for that" or "Too much effort"...just use a chainsaw............I have evolved so much in the last few months and on this great day "Buxtons rep arriving on site with shiney stuff" i now see that through my own preference i ca choose what i use to make my job easier without worrying how other people do it! i have been told by my new Boss that i can choose any bells and whistles and a Tree motion Harness! that i need today........REALIZATION! i shall of course be replicating my own kit... P.S learnt a bit from Drew B this morning with something he said....Loving your work Bro! in a nutshell....Don,t listen to negativity.....Use what you want or feel will make your life easier in the tree...
  10. BRASS MONKEY WEATHER:eek:Nice and cold...outside looks like the inside of my freezer! This morning will be amusing:rolleyes: Londoners freak out when faced with a bit of a frosting:D
  11. I like the way you think Drew:cool:you have a clear understanding of how you want to climb and what you want to use in order to do it....with the key word being "fluidity"... A lot of new climbers could learn a lot from that....we have so many new innovations in tree climbing...they are there to be used......SO USE EM!:)
  12. If i don,t answer it,s just cos the chipper,s running so keep trying!
  13. I,ve always liked their gear..."Casual Wear for the working Arborist" I Aspire to be as cool as this bloke when i,m older:thumbup1:
