  1. I am really enjoying a level of fitness that I have not felt since I was younger so I am grateful for that.I did have to make a significant change in my life but is who I am now I will never go back. However I have been neglecting the gym the last few months. But my tree work and cycling have kept me in shape I believe. So this morning I ventured back.Truth is I found it easy.I am certainly still getting stronger.I shalt to get in three or four times a week.keep up the momentum.

  4. ?? buying flowers is something I rarely do...but I am very old fashioned.
  5. Just realised what you meant mate....that tree in question was decayed from knee height to the base and the instructed wanted in split level cut into sound would and it had a lean....The instructor was top notch.Very impressed with his course.
  6. And I was rewarded with a place at the dinner table...
  7. And so before I made the journey back up North I had to visit my good friend Annalize. And visit these brick giants.
  8. And today they were working with those same chimneys in the distance.
  9. It,s a small world...last nightasi looked across from where I was staying I could see lots of conning towers and I saw they were near a place called Lichfield and that name rang a bell...pretty sure I knew someone who lived there...
  10. And I have learnt so much from this chap over the last two days. Another step formed along the road that should hopefully end with a full time career in Training.
  11. A big thanks to Alan who I met at the Arbshow who runs a training centre and kindly invited me down to help gain more experience within the training world and gave me a room on his small farm and his wife who cooked me a fantastic Chilli with Beef from their herd and Scrambled Egg on toast with Eggs from their fully free ranged Chucks[emoji215] [emoji214]
  12. Wow....That was a learning curve I will never forget.Big thank you to Steve Hulme for allowing me to follow him and his lads about for two days.Even let me give a couple of demo,s....I,m off to find some food and get a wash then I,m off to see a very good friend.More later!
  13. I travelled through the night to get to today,s destination. My new road has brought me South to Stafford.Over the next two days my hands will not get dirty and I won,t even break a sweat. However my Brain Sponge will be getting one hell of a workout and I cannot wait.I am to be an "Observer" shadowing an instructor as he deliver,s a course to some Arb,s.
  14. Captain,s log.Stardate July 2019." The New Road"
  15. And as the thread rolls towards the one and a quarter Million view mark it,s seems a world away from page one when all I had was a pound coin and a Silky Saw.I am so grateful to everyone who has ever followed my story....I,m just sharing my enthusiasm for this Industry that means so much to me and hope to spread positivity. As you will be aware I chose my Avatar name because of my love for the handsaw. If I had to choose one item from everything in Tree work it would be my Silky.I take great care of it.This Zubat pro has never cut me or let me down in almost three years since I received it as a leaving gift.If used correctly they are perfectly safe.I could hand cut all day, every day.In fact "cut n hold" with a handsaw is my favourite Arboricultural discipline.I find it therapeutic and it helps create great hand and arm strength....But what now? I am entering into the most exciting time of my life as I am following MY dream. The story continues! [emoji191] [emoji269]

  17. It,s been cool to catch up after all these years.
  18. I like to see people do well.I get a huge amount of pleasure from them succeeding and watching my old college buddy taking such pride in his new vehicle has really brought my Arb life full circle.Taking pride in one,s work is fundamental to me and a lot of the people I feel closest to in this industry. You have to follow your dream and never ever give up!
  19. Excellent Love seeing those "V" cuts lift off.Like a jigsaw puzzle.
