  1. Very atmospheric..Rembrantesque.
  2. Exactly Mark, even if it happens once the life of the saw...I know its not the same but think how often a Handsaw is dropped from a tree...add a few Kgs to that and a running engine with a sharp Chain.
  3. Really?
  4. I wanted to ask you if you were snowed in?
  5. to you too Mr Plogs:lol:
  6. All in all it,s been a beautiful day...in many ways. But I can see the trees beginning to sway again.
  7. I can see how it is certainly one method but as we know there are moments when say you make your cut and then lower your saw running the strop through your fingers to control it if you see what I mean. I clip my saw straight onto my Caritool but still knowing it's attached to my harness via a tear away bungee is a good safety fallback.
  8. Thanks Lee. I,ve been waiting for this sort of thing to come along. May have some tree work down there afterwards as well.
  9. A few years back I went from Durham to Ealing Broadway in London to Dismantle three trees. Took two days but the money was excellent and we got a tip and an extra job on the way back...it took a very long time to get there and back but it was a lot of fun and it adds diversity to your work.i have been offered a weeks work in France in the Spring and I shall be driving there also.It all adds to your experience and pushes you.
  10. You,ll see how it goes on here my friend.
  11. How do you mean Darrin?
  12. Whoop whoop! Whatever it is...it'll be gone very soon! Just the placebo effect of necking a wierd looking capsule fills me with energy:D
  13. Reason number 3... this for me is the best...I was asked if I would like to come down to Lincoln and spend a day helping at Risholme College with the teaching. This has been an ambition of mine for a while now and an area I am quite familiar with and very passionate about..I am to be there on friday. This is my best "foot in the door" yet. :) I cannot wait! Very exciting times ahead and yet another example of how Arbtalk can help not just me but anyone who chooses to utilise it. I knew I had a good feeling about today;)
  14. Feeling quite chuffed...time to kiss these germs goodbye.
  15. Reason 2. Been struggling with a crappy chest infection for a while now which wouldn't go.I'm not good with medical attention. And I was told that doctors are reluctant to hand over antibiotics these days so I thought I'd wait for it to go....it hadb't for weeks now so I headed off to the docs this morning....and Result! I got Antibiotics!
  16. Thanks Jon...it started out as a beautiful day...and it keeps getting better! Reasons to be cheerful 1. Just before Xmas Special Branch Tree Services(Me and Big Dan) got Robbed...Everything but the chipper.. (5 saws, hedgecutters blower etc.)I chose not to post this until everything got replaced...it did put a spanner in the works as you can imagine but as of today we are fully equipt!
  17. Used to use a Screw gate but now I connect with a 3 way. I agree with what bttgaz said about inspecting screw gates.check everything...always!
  18. TSP that's REAL snow! Beautiful...hopefully Jon it will dump some up here:thumbup:

  20. Bet you're well excited about Australia Nathan! And yeah, spill the beans on the new Stihl.
