  1. Carved this at my Harewood House, every body thought it was great but i had no offers for it' wonder why! lol. So i left it for there woodland sculpture trail, This is finished but i though she looked a little too nice and clean so a coating of oil and petrol did the trick eh!
  2. Thanks, just over two years now part time, the simplest things are mushrooms after that everything is hard!LOL Just try what you like and dont worry about messing up its all practice practice practice!

  4. He is 65 and has started carving this dead poplar tree its 69' and he has the devil skewerd on a sword at the top and figures of jesus and angels on the way down, man i was shitting up there with him' he's mad, lol. cheers Tommy

  6. And this another Owl on books This was our friends place, Captn Dave Lavoie where we stayed' a kind of a working holiday for me, it was really hot and i melted every time i carved' lol.

  8. Here are a few carvings I carved in Tennessee so i had a little practice on the fairy, she came out better over there!
  9. They are pretty good, you should be able to carve owls , just get the shape first if they are big enough you will manage the eyes with the carving bar if not you can buy eyes from craft shops, just drill and push them in. Good luck Heres a biggish stylized owl i carved for my kids school
  10. I got first place with my Fairy & Dragon, whey hey! Second was Andrew frost with a chainsaw helmet with oak leaves. Third was Michael Tamoszus with an owll seat. Cheers, Tommy

I seen you, you passed me twice where were you taking the loads? 10" up is ok with me, I dont have a yard yet but I will be asking local farms for a bit land and a barn or somewhere to rent and carve on. I will be away the next two weeks as from in the morning but I will be in touch when i'm back. All of the carvings were carved from one piece of wood but you can saw your wood up and join pieces togeather to add your dragon fly wings and things, mine is all one piece. Thanks, Tommy
  13. Thanks, for the comments and look forward to meeting some of you's at the APF, I'm going there to win that one! The winners of the open comp was voted by the carvers and I dont think they would of liked me winning! Mick Burns is an excellent large scale sculptor and i do admire his talent, i copied his sea shells when i started carving.

  21. This took a bit of patience and then my wife threatend to cut his manhood off, LOL, he's still got it but he has a split right down his face now.
