1. for any saw i just use the non bungie tool strops with the metal ring, one of the long ones as ive a long reach! the beech doesnt look too bad, just a shame about the gap on the left, why do you think it diddnt turn out as well as you hoped? (if you know what youre not happy with, you'll not do the same next time!)
2. nice one martin, i know what you mean about the reverted leaves!
3. they are actually, although its a bit of a sore point mentioning theyre not in it they cant believe that im english but arnt bothered by football went to see england play last week in an english bar, it was PACKED!! forgot how much i DONT miss english bars:sneaky2:
4. "This World Cup Is Turning Out Like WWII... The French Have Surrendered, The Americans Turn Up At The Last Minute, The Itailans Aint Gettin Involved And The English Are Left To Fight The Germans!!"
5. nice one james and tim, say hi to franky for me!
6. sounds very simple. but try looking for pictures of a broadleafed woodland, then a conifer plantation, look at the diffrences. if i were doing it id be looking at google earth, spotting a nearby plantation (gonna be a dark green matt with parrallel lines of planting visible) and spotting a nearby woodland. take a day out and go visit them, the answers will literally be infront of youre eyes, you will learn a heck of a lot more viewing it than copying it off the net! goodluck
7. Cheers yeah, a few k's of kit, machinery brought here is around 30% higher than uk haha, i almost remember what a conifier is . . . infact i havent seen a conifer since ive been over here
8. i think its intresting, reading through this thread, that the people who have used it reckon its worth it, and continue to use it, and those that havent used it think its a gimmick
9. looks good rob one from yesterday, shame its blury, sod knows how to photoshop!
10. aspens worth it just for the increase in energy you get
11. just a quick comment, i was thinking about aspen today, when i first started working here, i told a few people that i thought i had increased energy levels throughout the day, i put it down to not having fry-ups anymore, but perhaps its aspen-infact it probabally is because of aspen because ive substituted fryups for chinese and thai meals in the day:thumbup1:
12. and finito, total of 8 hours climbing time for the 2 trees, including roping off over the house/shrubs, and missing the fence/utility line
13. there not ours, their the landscapers where our stumpgrinder lives, but ive only heard good things about them, lack of ground damage compared to skid steers for a start. the attatchments are limitless, hes got back actors with swivel buckets for both machines, 3in1 buckets, grabs, forks, sweepers, snow ploughs, and a few bits to do with grass laying/soil prep
14. have a look at the other aspen thread mate-the wake up thread:lol:
15. if more people use it, the price will come down. we use it here in sweden, its noticeable how it doesnt burn youre nose off if cutting down a big stump, id imagine itd be great for milling for that reason too. if i returned to the uk to work, id definatly buy a 200litre drum-thatd be about 4-5 months of not having to go to the garage, mess about with mix ect for a start. i think the aspen bloke has just annoyed people with the bs, user reviews would have been better .
16. not yet, some of the other stuff ive ordered has to be ordered in, so we're waiting for that, then it'll be sent in one parcell- dont really want twice the shipping just to have the rope a few days early! hopefully get it this or next week haha, today was steady, started at 8, left site at 4.15 and had about 2hours of breaks/lunch, if we had busted a gut and worked maybe an extra hour we probabally coulda had it all down today ready to be chipped/collected tommorrow, but there wasnt much point busting a gut today, so we diddnt
17. northern muppet:biggrin:
18. haha, it'll be alright dean, it'll look like a loverly toilet brush next year:001_tongue: and some bits of kit from last week bandit 4x4, radio controlled, blade, 38 horse scania v8 diesel avants
19. i use the tree magic, it is a good comfy well built harness only just let me down after 2.5 years use-the saw attatchment ring has started to rip out, but it is used 5 days a week, and has had a fair few 88s and 66s hanging off it:001_smile: other than that its only showing a few signs of wear
20. lime pollarding today nice steady day, first tree cut n drop 80% done by lunch, an hour for lunch, then cut n dropped the roadside stuff of the 2nd tree, just stuff over the house and shrubs to rig iff tommorrow 8am 11.30 12.00 rigging over house left for an easy day tommorrow evil boat
21. andy, £50 is all youre short of for a BRAND NEW 200T its worth waiting for. ebay can be hit and miss
