  1. I can get either set for the same price, any opinions on which is better/longer lasting? never used either of them before.
  2. Maybe time to wear a dust mask when shovelling composting woodchips? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1026153/Gardener-dies-breathes-deadly-fungus-rotted-leaves-compost-heap.html
  3. If you guys are worried about that binner you should probably get out of treework. Nice vid Reg.
  4. Laz, remember this vid from treebuzz? dont know who it was and if its the same equipment being used, but looks similar to the frog. Any thoughts? [ame= ] [/ame]
  5. Thanks Ed, the Jonsered? thats a cs2171, same saw as the Husky 372xp but in red, its excellent.
  6. Before we felled the stem we cut away the split parts - this was all that was holding the tree up.
  7. Had to remove this Japanese Red Cedar(Cryptomeria japonica) from a large Victorian garden at the weekend as it had become hazardous. The stem had split in various places recently and it was right beside the main access road into the property(school). The sad thing is, it was the only Cryptomeria they had in the whole garden in amongst Giant Sequoias, Western Hemlocks, Lawsons Cypress, Silver Firs etc.
  8. Any of you old skaters remember Danny Way? Seen what he's up to these days? [ame= ] [/ame]
  9. Even if he did exist you'd still have to choose wether or not to believe in him.
  10. Its so that your chipper gets stolen off the back of the truck when your working on a tree in the back garden then you have to buy a new one from them. Anyway... Discovered a way to lock the Jensen tow hitch short term until I find a good lockable hitch. Buy one of those long shackle padlocks and fit it through the hole below where the red X is. That way you cant pull up the handle, the padlock shaft works as barrel lock.
  11. If they do a good lockable cover why wasn't it supplied with the chipper?? This kind of thing? dont they do a lockable tow hitch which will fit on the main shaft? I'm having trouble finding one that will fit as the diameter of the shaft is not a standard size according to Indispension.
  12. The regimes of Stalin, Mao and Hitler demonstrate what happens when atheism becomes a political project. They show that there is a link between the attempt to eradicate religion and the loss of freedom. Their atheist beliefs influenced their policies and created the worst crimes against humanity in the history of the world. Believing that secularism will make the world a better place is a matter of faith. So its not really that different from Christianity or Islam.
  13. So did Stalin, Mao and Hitler.
  14. Do you want a secular world?
  15. If there was no religion would you still be a militant atheist?
  16. Cant seem to find one where the bolt holes match up. See what I mean?
  17. Has anyone changed the factory standard tow hitch on a Jensen to something more secure with a barrel lock etc? what do you recommend?
  18. Press play and keep watching the center of he screen - [ame= ] [/ame]
  19. Lancstree, invest in a good quality pair of secateurs (Felcos) or borrow a set, preferably very sharp ones. This is an excellent video on the basics of shrub and tree pruning, the section on thinning is very good. Just click on the link and choose 'Pruning guide for your trees and shrubs' on the right hand-side of the page. http://bellevue.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?view_id=19&clip_id=1498
  20. It's good value for money, the harness isn't that great, very narrow back support on that model. The Sky D hardseat/Sliding D is a better harness made by the same company - Cresto. Better back support and it allows for easier side to side movement in the tree. If they could include that in the deal it'd be worth it as a starting kit. Maybe you should vist Robert at McCluskys in Irvine, show him a print out of the deal and see if he can match it. Also means you can check in with your local dealer if anything goes wrong with the equipment.
  21. Something funny going on here G7...... .....you sure your telling us the whole story? Why walk away from a job thats nearly complete and dump the stuff in the driveway?
  22. That gets the prize for the most depressing arb pic of the year.
  23. Was wondering when someone was gonna say that. whatever way you look at, we're getting ripped off.
  24. Nice one Ed, thanks. Never seen this rig before - think they might need a bigger tractor when that thing gets full.
  25. Can anyone explain why chainsaws are so much cheaper in the US than the UK? USA - Husqvarna 346xp with 18 bar - $429.95 on Baileys website = £216.78 GBP http://www.baileysonline.com/itemdetail.asp?item=HU+346XP+18&catID=43 UK - Same saw and bar on FR Jones(which has the best price on saws I've found in the UK) - £422.64 inc Vat. http://www.frjonesandson.co.uk/products/machines.php So the same saw and bar combination works out at £216.78 in the US but £422.64 in the UK. Why is that? ps - The same story applies to Stihl and Jonsered.
