Here's my first attempt, small tree little job, thought I"d have the time to mess around a little with the camera. i'm really pleased with the resulting film even if it is on the short side. What do you think??

It's a tricky one, the tree is in a C.A. and although it was the lower branches over the driveway, is is a driveway owned by the owner of the tree. The "hackers" have agreed access to and fro their front door (by my understanding).
I think my client just wants to know what damage has been caused and indeed in my humble opinion the damage is little, aesthetically the tree does look different, but no different to a thousand other crown-lifts over a driveway!
So correctly pointed out by various others earlier a little neighbourly chat over the garden fence could've stopped it getting to this point1
thanks for the advice though peeps

I've got a client who has a young beech tree (perhaps 40-50 years old) and his neighbours have "hacked it" He called me to tidy up the un-sightly stubs left behind by the pruning.
He wants to take the case further and has asked me to "value" the tree and to tell him in my opinion how much "value" (aesthetically) has been taken off the tree by said neighbourly pruning.
Any ideas??

I've owned two Canon slr cameras over the years and two Nikon slr's. Numerous compacts adn the only advice I can offer is that for me it's slr or dslr everytime over a compact.
As for the Nikon/ Canon arguement, ita the same as the Sthil/Husky debate. It'll go on for ever.
Personally I prefer the layout and the build quality of my Nikon D200, which incedently I had up a 100ft Douglas fir yesterday.....built to last!!

Thanks, as if I needed any more convincing!!! Apple here we come!

Time for a new computer, and we have been thinking of going from pc to apple. So are there any apple users out there? If so which ones are good value/performers? Oh we are looking at desktop not laptops.
Cheers y'all

We've got a 75ps one, and yes it's uncomfortable, slow and chuggy like everyone says, up a hill you've got a good chance to read a short novel!! BUT it has NEVER let us down, pulling full loads and a heavy kwikchip chipper. I'd say there alright, no nonsence trucks.

I thought our yp came out in November Plippy ????

how do you combine the images ad15
-
I'm really no expert, but here goes;
It seems to be a new technique possible with the invent on digital imaging, whereby the photographer takes 3 photos of the same scene, but exposes one to capture the highlights, one for the mid-tones and the third for the shadows, etc.
All three images are then used to create the HDR final image.
I think that's what it is??
Might have a dabble myself.
I'm sure Mr Hancock would be able to confirm!!

One of the Coprinus sp, I would of thought.
More than likely saprophytic on dead/dysfunctional roots.
Will try and get a positive Id later.
Pretty sure its not one of the Armillaria.
Any shots of the stems?
.
That's good news then! I don't have shots of the stems I'm afraid

Ditto, it has been VERY dry so far this year down this way Plip

Feelin' ya pain bro.
Hit internal wire ringing up the first butt with mine.
Must be the law, I reckon.
I find my 660 tip-heavy running a 36", so have switched to a 25", with the big bar kept in the truck for the odd beast.
Make you right mate, the 36 was for this beast of a tree, and my intentions are to do the same as you. I bet the saw roars with a 25 on it??
-
yeah you know what its like when it's a new toy!!!
-
36 inch bar. Problem was one side several teeth were bent right and seeing as it's brand new we took care over the sharpen to get the cutters the same length.
-
Had the first outing of my brand spanking 660 today ( cheers Jonsie.....great saw great deal).
Fired her up to fell a big old oak, got the gob cut in and went around to do the back-cut, got half way through and hit a NAIL, mullered the chain, had to spend half hour sharpening it up.
Bloody hell, it's only down 3 cuts!!!!!!
