  1. I am going to be upgrading my Nikon D200 and the vertical grip within the next few months (prob too far away if you were interested) . Its a awsome camera and i am only selling as i will be getting a D3X .It will be boxed and is in good condition . Everything works as it should .It has some signs of wear , mainly slight shine where its been in my hand or been put in and out of back pack .I would be looking for something like £350 for it . But as i say prob not till end Nov at earliest .

    Cheers Mark

That's a great price for an amazing, well-speced, built to last piece of kit. I've got a D200, it's been up 100ft trees, out bouncing around in the truck for two years now, got wet a few times and still keeps on going like a trojan.

Bite his hand off people for £350 (is that including lens Sniffy?)

  2. Once you start heavily reducing birches you spoil what they are all about- graceful form. They never look the same again and brings on the onset of heavy rot pockets and all the hazards that brings with it. NOT GOOD

As already pointed out try to convince to leave be or fell and re-plant. But its difficult to convince people to fell as they think you are just angling for more cash!!

Might be a good idea to ask people to send a few pics of heavily reduced birches. That should quickly change their minds.

    Good luck

  3. I can confirm that Ross is not a saw abuser. Self and alcohol, yes.

    Can't help ya bro.

I had a 260 that just ate chainbrake springs with no explanation.

Could just be a pup. German (well, American) Friday afternoon special?

My 660 had chainbrake issues initially (impossible to click on with left wrist), but bedded down nicely in the end.

Had the same with my 660, and like you Mark after some use it sorted itself out also.

  4. You're mental Wane, that clearly has no brakes.

Even to a total non-bike nut like me Mick, that looks the business!

Ride out here for a couple with me and Steve one weekend.

It's a peddle back brake, like the old days, takes a bit of getting used to at first, but to be honest you cant get anywhere that quick it!

  5. Nice vid mate.

Quick word of caution though... ditch the wedding ring as it is too nice to lose. so is the skin on your finger.

I know what you're saying. I'm always weary of it but I can't bring myself to take it off for work. I'd never remember to put it back on! Have you had problems or near misses in the past with rings then?

  6. Nice vid. Looked like a nice day for it too.

What tune was that in the vid mate? Sounded like a nice bit of chill out.

Thanks, it was a great day to be there. The music is by Nightmares on Wax and the track is called "Calling"

  7. Thanks Mark. Always good to get up some tall poles!! Tried to make it a bit educational as well for the folks who may stumble across it on yutube. Been wondering what the best music soundtrack to a tree surgery vid could be???

  8. Just a short vid of a tree we had to take down this week. Had to be lowered due to obstacles on the deck that couldn't been seen from up the top. Hope you enjoy.

  9. Usually difficult to get to the ends for a delicate reduction due the brittle properties of the wood. Therefore, most people tend to cut a bit more off and then they sucker up like and become hairier than a dogs rear end.

Very true indeed, I have seen them on the continent and they hit them back hard. They always seem to come back!

  10. Hello all.

Had a great day up at Cirencester on Friday, saw plenty of interesting things. Amongst which was the Greenmech Quad 160 chipper. I liked the look of this machine and was wondering if anyone on the site has any feedback on it?
