1.
Cool, I'm sure you'll be happy with it. I can't see any reason your Dexta wouldn't handle it - when I worked for Riko we used to put the 35e's on the back of even the tiny AGT 835's

Hi Ben,

Yes, on a 2840, no weights but a front loader and heavier duty whees and tyres each end.

Hi Ben,

I think part of it is that the igland goes through 2 pulleys whereas the krpan and uniforest only go through one (but with an optional bottom pulley), but also that you can get a lot more weight behind the operating lever compared to the igland (though the igland will be around 10 years old now so the design may have changed).

From what I remember, we never bent the igland, but it was much thinner grade steel and as the butt plate was a lot narrower, it never bit in like the krpan does.

I'd be happy with either, but the krpan, in my opinion, is the better one for production work and fits a more conventional shaped tractor back end, whereas the igland suits the smaller compacts a bit better (or did when we had one).

Hi Ben,

It was a good little winch and well suited to the geometry of the back end of smaller tractors (especially something like an alpine), as well as being quite light.

We'd used it mostly on the back of a 30hp Landini 4wd but replaced it with a 3.5T Krpan a couple of years ago. The Krpan's a lot stronger (but heavier), but also pulls a lot better, despite only being 0.3t higher rated pull.

If you're buying new, I'd go look at the Krpan or Uniforest as they'll more than likely still be more winch for less cost.

Evening, not had chance to check at bank yet; did you manage to ping that money over?

Ta,

Hi Ian,

We've nothing spare at the moment, best bet would be to try RichieG on here as he sometimes has stuff come up Helmsley way so not a million miles from you.

  7.
Sorry, nothing available at the moment. We should be back in the woods again from February, but the majority of the time we don't have anything spare. If we do it will go up on a post on the forum on a first come first serve basis as the list of people wanting it just keeps getting longer and longer I'm afraid.

  8.

Sounds like you had good (but painful) day too then. Buzzsurgeon did pretty much the same as you today but ended up with a handguard to the belly - he had to have a little sit down!

Got to give the little yellow DR a thrashing round the stubble special test today while we were setting out - poor little thing - had the valves floating a couple of times:blushing:

  9.

Cool, no prob on the DR - they definitely don't have the looks of the little Honda for sure.

Heading out on't bike today too - we're riding next weekend's course to help set check times/number of laps for the clubman and sportsman classes (almost feels liek we're cheating bit having seen the course beforehand!)

  10.

Morning,

Looks like we're heading to the Dirtbike show on Thursday - do you know when you're off yet?

Ended up with that old EXC...........

  12.
Will drop you a PM in a bit (or worst case tomorrow) but yep, it'll all go back as it was no prob.

  13.

Cool, hope you enjoy i next weekend. Got our next one in a couple of weeks <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/thumbup1.gif.b3bf398c4e4c934001283d01d1645efa.gif" alt=":thumbup1:" />

Reckon my leccy start DR 125 will be on ebay before too long - just haven't decided whether to leave the 200 engine in, take the 200 engine out and sell with the 125 engine in a box or to put the 125 engine back together with the fresh head I bought (it dropped a valve and took out a valve guide).

After setting a faster test time on the yellow DR 125 than I did on the KTM, I'm starting to think a small 4 stroke might be the way to go <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/thumbup1.gif.b3bf398c4e4c934001283d01d1645efa.gif" alt=":thumbup1:" />

  14.

Evening, How's the mighty XL going? When's the WR's race debut?

Very nearly bid on an oddball last night - an 85 CR80RF, the one with the 18" and 21" wheels. Reckon it would have made quite a cool Vinduro for tighter events.

In negotiations at the mo though for another 1990 KTM 250, but a proper EXC with V5 - plan is to maybe make a mint EXC and sell the SX but still have one to ride while I rebuild the other (though reckon there's half a chance that the "spare" rolling chassis might end up with a 200/250 4 stroke wedged in!)

  15.
Sound's ace, they're good little engines so hopefully it'll just keep on chugging

  16.
Cool, now the weather's here I reckon the little XL will be just the job for buzzing round on <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/thumbup1.gif.b3bf398c4e4c934001283d01d1645efa.gif" alt=":thumbup1:" /> Is it an older one?

  17.

Think I've got a probelm - this whole racing thing's taking a hold again! Just entered the vintage class in a local enduro for next Sunday (they'll let me go pre 90 on the little yellow DR) and then a month later should be lettign the KTM fly in Northumberland.

So far seems he got a bit of a bargain on the 600. it's all there and hopefully a new coil will sort it - he only gave £450 for it and it's quite tidy.

  18.

Cool, XL 125 should be a nice little bike and go forever on a tank. I'm quite liking my litle black DR at the moment, especilly since it grew a pair! I didn't bother rebuilding the old top end, just dropped a complete, low milage DR 200 lump in <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/thumbup.gif.b5b8dbbabb9f02d00f8994927509a585.gif" alt="" /> Sshhh though <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/sneaky2.gif.eb5fe6666d685373f5497645561d2b74.gif" alt=":sneaky2:" /> It's not massively faster at the top end, but will hold 55/60 pretty well and goes up hills/into the wind loads better.

One of the guys I work with just bought an 87 KTM 600 LC4 - h had one a long time ago but seems to think it's a good idea to have another <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/lol.gif.c1949ebebd07450b8e432682378725e0.gif" alt="" /> We were towing it behind the tractor flat out, with the bike in top gear and it would still lock up!

  19.

Finally got myself sorted with a bike to do some Vinduros on - a 1990 KTM 250 MX <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/thumbup.gif.b5b8dbbabb9f02d00f8994927509a585.gif" alt="" /> Fairly tidy thing and shouldn't take too much to calm it down for enduro I reckon. It's one of the first right hand kick ones so is pretty much the same engine right up to 1997 - almost seems a bit unfair being in the same class as guys on early 80's bikes <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/lol.gif.c1949ebebd07450b8e432682378725e0.gif" alt="" />

Hows the CCM hunting going?

  20.
CCM, now you're talking <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/thumbup1.gif.b3bf398c4e4c934001283d01d1645efa.gif" alt=":thumbup1:" /> I wouldn't mind one of the 350's just to be a bit different, though a 644 in yellow would be cool

  21.

<img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/thumbup.gif.b5b8dbbabb9f02d00f8994927509a585.gif" alt="" /> Hows the KLX/XR hunting going? I'm torn with what to do - part of me says go sensible with XR400/DR350 etc but other parts are to the other extremes - GasGas/KTM300 or DR650/Tenere/XL600/Dommie. Since getting back into bikes I've been like a little kid in a sweet shop <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/lol.gif.c1949ebebd07450b8e432682378725e0.gif" alt="" />

  22. Ey up, How's it going?

Not been on LRS much over last year as it's been nuts with work and we moved house too.

90's doing wel since rechassis - it's nearly on 290,000 miles!

  23. a 135 should be OK size wise as we were using an international 454 for long enough and our Kubota is similar in size to a 135 also. Where you may struggle is with 2wd it doesn't take a lot to get stuck with the trailer on. Usually when shunting around or if you hook a back wheel behind a stump or bigger piece of brash.

If it's a clean, flattish site and sensible load sizes then you should be OK.

  24. He's a hard man to catch - how did he leave it with you?
