    341 on 325

Helo this is my first thread I am looking to convert my 341 from 3/8 to 325, has anyone done it and does anyone know which bar I can use, does a bar for a 260 fit or do I need a special oregon bar. Any advice much apreciated
  2. I put some cubes on the pallet weigher. Got the following results with green wood Sitka averaged about 330Kgs Hardwood mix of ash, oak and birch averaged 450Kgs Some of the HW cubes that had a lot of oak were 550Kgs
  3. Make sure its the new spec one with a silver side casing. Its far superior to the previous model which it recently replaced
  4. The winds just passed through North West Wales. It was pretty serious
  5. Forestry guys say richen them up for the first week (40hrs). Then bang them on the dyno and tune them up to 500rpm above manufactures max, then change piston rings and crank bearings at 6 months (1000hrs). All my saws have done 2000hrs this way before they are retired.
  6. Peugeot 205 diesel, best offroader ever. Fit mud tyres and sump gaurd then if going gets too slippy back it up, if going gets too rough ram it up. I used to take mine over the brash matt to get deisel to the harvester and it once went over a ploughed field to take tools to the tractor. All this for 250quid and 50mpg. Dont try towing though as the trailer decides where the car goes. And you dont even need a jack for it as its so light you can lift it. they are a miracle of engineering
  7. Timber cutter I spent a fair amount of time cutting buttresses off of sitkas. Cant fault my 361 for this. learnt a few things on the way. 1 File your top plate angle to around 15-20 degrees. Or 2 Dont bother cutting the buttresses off, its easier when the trees on the deck as only one cut per buttress is required, and if the trees are to be felled by the harvester the newly shaped tree fouls the saw box and prevents the head sitting low enough on the tree. Get the harvester operator to learn how to double or triple cut the trees.
  8. tried cooking oil for month or so it coats everything including the cooling fins in red brown residue. asda smart price engine oil is the way forward
  9. Helo this is my first post. Had to reply to this one as I had the same problem a few years ago with a stihl. It was the plug, when you held it upright with the sparking part at the top it looked fine. In position in the saw the electrode was falling out of its seat and shorting the gap. Replaced the plug all fine until it did it again after about 20 hours. Dodgy batch I think.
