  1. Could it be 30k or 1 year, whichever comes first?
  2. Shed prices have definitely come down in price since when I was looking back in 2022. I ended up building a 10x6 ft for about £1100 plus my time back then which would have cost me close to £3k to buy at the time. I would always recommend building your own though. Good quality felt isn't a bad option, it's cheap and easy to replace when that time comes.

    Cabstar

As Monkeybusiness said, pay particular attention to the body work around the front and rear cab mounts. Perfect little truck for log deliveries.
  4. No you are not missing anything, loads of companies are 'winging it' across all trades. I know builders that do it, arb approved companies that rely on full-time freelancers. It's very common, if I were a freelancer I personally wouldn't commit to one company 5 days a week and not be on the books.
  5. I use these with my old petrol hedge trimmer and they really helped. https://www.screwfix.com/p/stanley-vibration-absorbing-performance-gloves-black-large/20418?tc=FG5&ds_rl=1241687&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1244069&gad_source=1&ds_rl=1247848&ds_rl=1245250&gclid=CjwKCAjw_Na1BhAlEiwAM-dm7GenUpx1yxqQnKrffWE1KHy3M3835f5jT797VJEwvQSZcIbs6-PO8hoC8nAQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  6. Bristol waste in Avonmouth will take green waste. Will need a waste transfer note and you will get weighed so don't go in there with woodchip
  7. I don't get this... So you complete the job, tip the logs and woodchip at your yard. After 2 weeks they haven't paid so presumably you have a loader of some sort to reload the pile of chip which is probably buried under 2 weeks worth of fresh chip and logs then drive back to site to tip on driveway? I'd rather cut my losses 😂
  8. I stopped with the payment after 7 days etc a couple of years ago. They've probably had 4 - 6 weeks to prepare for your arrival, no reason why they shouldn't pay on the day. I now say payment on receipt of invoice and chase after a week. Sometimes the invoice goes in as I'm leaving a job, sometimes it's a few days later depending on my time. To the original poster, you could buy a 2nd hand trailer and something like a greenmech cs100 to get started all under 10k. Be punctual and reliable and even if your tree pruning isn't perfect, as long as you do a great job clearing up, customers will love that. You will be too cheap which will bring in lots of work, then you can start charging more when you get stupidly busy!
  9. Thanks. Yes I have checked the online planning comments and it is not on there, where all the others in the past have been. I have an email with the date they acknowledged it so will assume all is good.
  10. I've given notice for several tree jobs recently. Some I have had to pop up a site notice, a couple I haven't. I have received emails either way with the decision. I am still waiting on one job which I was hoping to start Monday. (I gave notice just over 6 weeks ago) I have emailed the council with the reference and asked for an update on Monday but no reply . The job is just reducing the side of a large conifer tree, could it be that they don't deem it necessary to give notice? In theory can I just crack on as it's been more than 6 weeks? Anyone else had similar? Thanks
  11. Yep, quoting higher than normal at the moment. I love telling people that it will be end of January and seeing their reaction
  12. What are the disadvantages in having single rear wheel?
  13. I think no matter what minimal work you do to those pine trees you are always going to have mess on the driveway. Seems pointless doing any work to them. Maybe build a car port?
  14. Agree, I love this chipper. Unfortunately some loppers went through my arb 130 a few weeks ago, next working day I had 4 new disc blades sent out from GA groundcare and it was back working like a champ again.
  15. 50/50ish for me. I wish I had enough tree jobs on to not do any hedge trimming. I find tree work way less strenuous on the body.
