Cool,sounds good Ian,New york is cool,i reckon 6days would be too long.I was about 13/14 when i was there.Went to Chicago on another trip for a few days then across lake michigan to a small town that was really nice,cant remember the name,which was a week or so.San Fran looks pretty sweet place,Better to spend a shorter period of time than longer in a place i reckon,(more so in small town america..) Oh and trip advisor is really helpfully too

That was echo point (katoomba) in the blue mountains Ian,Saw a couple of tree crews removing some gums there,which was cool but annoying listening to chainsaws in the distance.
