  1. It wouldn't be so bad if it was bad maintenance on my part but i paid a lot of money to get a reliable warranted engine transplant on a two week turn around so no disturbance to the business.

Instead 3months later i got a pig of an engine with more wrong than right and a warranty that wasn't worth the paper it was written on.

Avoid like the plague "National engine centre" Cardiff.

That's me Chris and i'm sure we'd have a few funny stories to share about a certain Mr Back?

Pretty sure that company has been on watchdog a few times

  2. If deep down you want a landy, then a jap pickup will always feel like second best.

Plenty of people like the jap pickups but as a proper work horse there's little to match a decent landrover, especially a HD 110 pickup.

Using a defender for longer runs is no problem unless you're fairly tall or just used to driving cars. I used to put 25/30,000 a year on my old 130 and it was fine.

In my experience landrovers often get called unreliable because people fit cheap parts and wonder why they then break - I generally use genuine as I can mostly fit and forget.

For what you've described though, I'd say another van (though the 110 would be hard to pass up on if you can justify it to yourself).

I disagree it isn't helped by those parts you describe but I think the problems there to start with, I'm not sure what the problem is wether it's due to the workforce ethics, design etc but whatever it is there are problems there to start with

  3. I bought a leccy one for cutting wood at home, about as noisy as an angle grinder, was a cheap flymo one but it didn't last long till I burned the motor out, it was handy though for the noise aspect

  4. Butterbur (Petasites hybridus) is a common native along watercourses. The leaves were once used to wrap butter but I'm not sure how edible it is:001_smile:

Well I bet a guy to eat some for a quid, as far as I know he's still alive!

  5. Not seen that old boys leg before, knocked me sick BUT the fact he did the sign of the cross before he started, just proves how stupid he is IMO. If he didn't like the look of it, he shouldn't of done it.

Reminds me of the video of the score kicking a concrete panel fence through.

    I'll try and find it...

  6. rite here goes 2 chipper u both want first 1 is jo-beau i would buy it if i ent got one brillent machine 2nd one i would buy if i ent got a jo-beau m400

    fight :lol::lol:

u would not go wrong with any of these

jo beau wood chipper M500 24HP honda | eBay

Timberwolf TW18/100G Gravity Fed 4 inch Wood Chipper | eBay

I've got a Jo beau, out of those two id pick the Jo beau, the timber wolf seems to be all wrong, surely the idea of a small gravity fed chipper is its portability? If your gonna get a tow along might as well get a decent size one?
