i agree with Skyhuck, if you stopped doing it you would get stiffer and weaker. I dont climb as often as you guys at all, and when i do it is that little bit tougher.When i get back into fulltime work and doing it more i know it will be better. use it or lose it idea.

think i may do the tickets, and the tech cert when i got more practical behind me ,like you say. Academic work when my body gives up and says no more im to old, il do the tech cert in a few years.

its only a small proportion of what they do Steve, dont throw the baby out with the bath water.most of their funds are for injured troops and their families. im not a good advert for them am i il shut up:001_tongue:

poppie money can go towards ex servicmens grand kids, who never served if im right Andy, little johnny could get help if his great grandad was a servicmen. I used to think it was all injured servicemen ecte, but its not the legion only policy on it..i was surprised by it. Hope you dont mean im just avoiding the C++p jobs by training? i know there are job dodgers..im not one.

Your intilted to your opinion Mick.Take it up with the legion mate. They offered it to help me get a better life. No one else gives a monkeys about ex servicmen...thank you for putting your life on the line heres your gong...good bye. No help after your out. Its taken me a year to ask for help from them i kept refusing. I spent a few grand off my own back with a two year college course and other courses. the legion are here to help 'all servicmen who need help'.

As i said have not got it yet..its potentially. getting some help i hope from the British legion, they help out ex servicmen..like me.there willing to fund some training to help me get a better standard of work.....they dont just sell poppies in November:001_tongue:...they do a great job all year.

Dont see the need really. I agree whole heartdly get a nice certificate to show you have done it and know what your doing. Do you mind me asking 'do they charge for the assement'? Whos it with Stevie.

:confused1:What...you have to take atest for hedgelaying. i did a one day course in it...great fun...learnt it , monkey see monkey do , job done. Good luck anyway....just a little surprised they acssess pepole on it now.

Thing is im 41, although i dont act it or look it..i feel arb bossess think im past it for climbing ecte..although im defintly not..so i dont want to waste the 'funds' i get on something i wont use because i wont be employed. So if i do a mind enhancing course to do a more acadmeic job...thats my delimma.

read your post again mesterh...one year at partime college..or online with Myerscough looking at woodland managment, tree law, tree inspections, report writing ecte.

TEch certificate...more of a level 3 qualifications for tree inspectors, surveyors and team leaders and assitant tree officers. using your brain more than your muscles in a nutshell.
