    Combi Can ?

have both only thing i dont like about the sthil one is the petrol side could be a bit bigger even if you have the smallest amount left in it you cant fit 5 litres in it when you top up as for the husky can great can but the thread seems to go on the oil top sometimes and its easy to get cross threaded if not carefull
  2. know what you mean about the rubbish some people make and try sell it thats why i make all my own chestnut product nice to be able to cut it and make it up then put the fence up to
  3. the price of a a new pot and piston is just about £270 if i got them to put it on and didnt do it myself would be over half the price of a new 372 wasnt very happy with him i know that much but hey no 1 was hurt
  4. hi having Bad day today the guy cutting with me today bust one of my saws dont know what he did wether he cut through the hinge or what but all i see was the tree coming off to the side pinching the saw and traping it on taking the saw apart i noticed some of the fins bust off the side of the pot and a few other small things am i right in thinking this will mean the saw will now overheat so mean a new pot and piston ?
  5. it use to be law that you put the good face out thats where the saying driving the nails home come from as you was knocking them in towards your property but am sure its no longer law now
  6. i have had to replaces fences that have been summer cut chestnut after 4 to 5 years you tend to find that chestnut grown on stoney ground tends to last longer as its slower growing there for a tighter grain . we use to have a guy that insisted on all his posts being axe sharped as they lasted longer and he was right something to do with not opening the grain up as much as a saw but hey not many guys around now that could point posts with an axe i make all my own chestnut fencing material get pleasure from being able to take it from a standing tree all the way through to a finished fence hope your boss gives you the go ahead
  7. yes it is indeed trouble is chestnut was getting a bit of a bad name for lasting due to the amount of summer cut timber that is being sold and the customer isnt any the wiser they just think all chestnut doesnt last so they go back to softwood which isnt as good now they had to change the chemicals trouble is most timber has such a quick turn around now that its to wet to take the treatment even though tanalising is put under a vacum it can only push it in as far as the moisture in the timber has come out but i think the british standard for tanalising is only about 6mm penatration anyway
  8. chestnut will last very well even if untreated due to all the tannins just make sure that its not cut with the sap in it during the summer else it will rot out in no time if you want treat them then there far better being partly seasoned guess you could dip them in a tank of wood preservative and leave to soak hop poles use to have the tar boiled into them theres an old tar tank in the wood that i coppice would be cool to get it going one day but doubt you could get the tar now for it
  9. hope you get better soon drew sounds like i could of been allot worse

  12. i would go for sweet chestnut to as long as its cut when the saps down summer cut chestnut rots out in under half the time . alot of people seem to cut it in the summer which is a big no no in my book and part the reason why allot of people went off sweet chestnut for posts as they wasnt lasting but if done right they last just fine and if seasoned before putting in the ground they last even better
