  1. I am sure I have seen a product that produces a void and allows roots to expand.. But I cant remember what is was called...? I might be thinking about a biodegradable void former.. Used when building on piles.. http://www.barrelltreecare.co.uk/case-studies/BuildingsNearTrees.pdf
  2. I have been using DMM Alpine harnesses for years with mine. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/27989-getting-cheaper-contract-climber-rates.html
  3. The client doesn't want gravel. They want the block paving put back flat...
  4. I've had 2 plates put in my shoulder and one taken out.. I Think the aesthetic was the worst part. Made me feel ill for a week or so after.. Although going to Alton towers a few days after one of the ops probably wasn't a good idea.
  5. I really would NOT want to risk destabilising the trees... This is the view from the other side of the wall. Felling is NOT an option...
  6. The other side of the wall is a road, I would not want to prune/damage any roots this side.
  7. I have a client with a block paving drive. The TPO'd trees are disrupting their block paving. What is the best way to redo the drive and prevent it happening again? My initial thoughts were to use a cellular confinement system, such as cell web that should create a void?.. Any thoughts..?
  8. We often take both our stump grinders on the tipper trailer. I am sure there would be room for a chipper and the HB20.
  9. Canopy Tree Services are looking for one or two ground workers/newly qualified climbers. It could be full or part time. We normally start people freelance and then offer them a job once we know we get along. Tickets not essential but preferable. Give me a ring 0797 032 5361 or email me [email protected] Start time is 8.00 finish 4.30ish Located in Draycott DE72 3NX
  10. Thanks for the advice guys a couple of days with a walk behind has done a great job..
  11. Perfect thanks:thumbup1:
  12. Not a journal I take .. Do you have the details?
  13. Post Code is DE72 3NX Our loader operator up until last week would have been OK to load but has sold his loader. We are sourcing another... So loading should be do-able.. You can get an arctic to it, stobarts regularly collects chip from the same location. I don't want log fairies or have a goes with chainsaws and folk filling up car boot loads.. It is a mix of soft and hard woods, big lumps and small (although we chip most under 10 inch). Price-wise I am open to offers but I want rid and it must cover loading... Best to chat with Steve: 0778 6916 103
  14. Some one must want them....?
  15. I have a couple of 100 tons of Arb arisings I could do with being taken away.. Is anyone buying it? We are in the East Midlands between Derby and Nottingham..
  16. It is not ideal I agree. What other options are there? My advice was not to do it, but the council are demanding the off street parking and that is holding up the planning for the rest of the development. I can't see the council being happy with a spec that says hand dig investigations may show drive installation is not possible.
  17. It's mad.. The planned development is for a single mum with a disabled child, they want to extend over the footprint of a current garage (that is full of stuff but no car!) to have a downstairs bedroom .. They currently park their one car on the road which is a cul-de-sac with plenty of on street parking... The council however want 2 off street parking spaces...
  18. I have a client who has been asked by the council to provide evidence that a dropped kerb can be installed without damaging the street trees. To be honest the client doesn't really want off street parking but the council are insisting as it is part of their planning policy...? Can this be done? Has anyone done it successfully? How can we provide evidence? We could use a cellweb for the parking area, but without digging up the footpath how can we be sure what roots are there?
  19. I was going to take it off our truck when we first got it but really useful. We have loaded huge lumps. 4 or 5 guys can manhandle it onto the lift, then have to help the lift by lifting with it. Then slide it onto the truck. Less sawing , less sawdust. great..
  20. The tail gate slides down while in a horizontal position. It can foul the tow bar on some trucks and even the floor when pulling forward emptying on rough ground with lots of chip on.. But it saves your back when loading big lumps..
  21. The current plan is to use a Ferrari Flail Mower walk behind.. Anyone think that won't work
  22. https://honeybros.com/index.php?sid=35ie6w3sa5751f3x8b0a44537u09e7f0&app=ecom&ns=prodsearchp&ecom--prodsearch--string=grcs&SUBMIT=Go If anyone else is looking...
  23. Harken were great with the wnich bits anyone replaced the rubber feet?
  24. I have 2 both about 15 years old, (I don't use then for tree work any more) a red one and a white one... The metal brackets to fit the ear defenders on were a bit of a mare but they certainly outlasted the modern stuff! The red one is like new.... I am not going to the arb show however...
