nice wander around the woods this morning, some pretty cool beech and some old holly pollards and a crazy old oak. pretty lucky really as its about 5 minutes from mine. pretty awesome place to grow up

efficiency is one of the big reasons, speeds jobs up no end. and yes, its quite nice having some companionship some times, are job can be quite lonely. thursday was a clasic example of having 2 climbers in the tree. lovely weather, hardly any chainsaw use, just pottering round a good sized red oak with a silky, having a chat and a laugh. thats what its all about i think. its also good when you find someone who has a similar pruning style to you, alex the lad who is in the pictures of the field maple reduction is only 21 and is developing into a great arborist

i use 2 climbers at almost every oppertunity

good sized Red oak deadwood and light thin from yesterday, 2 climbers, nice weather and a bloody good laugh. days like that are what its all about. also tidyed up a small pine that had fallen over. on site for 9 home by 230, happy days

i used to use a double pully and never really had any problems with it, usethis sort of thing now HB Redirect System re the 11 mm rope, been using some arbormaster that got respliced recently and definately seems better on the elbows, climbed on my tachyon today and back to achey elbows

so going with that point we should check eveyday to ensure that the loler ticket hasnt expired, and if it has they should be sent home

yes it was a private client, got recomended for the job. was a little out of my usual area, but a passerby stopped and i quoted today to reduce his oak as well. the guy was going off to birmingham and paid in 50s before id even choosen which rope to climb on, but i havnt had a phonecall so i guess hes happy

what if a freelance climber who hasnt got his kit lolered comes out of the tree due to equipment failure, i havnt provided his gear. where would you stand

i have a method statement and a 32 page arb specific generic risk assesment. ive only printed it out once and that was enough actually the thought of its making me feel a bit queesy now
