  1. Last night I went fishing down the river Deben the saltwater stretch. Well never seen this before, it was dark and the stars were out, well when I pulled in my line I couldn't believe it, it was as though I was reeling in a long line of white phosphorus , with showers of white light hitting the water, these were drips.. I paddled in the water, with every splash/ripple showers of phosphorus like rays of light moved through the water. Can you imagine the display a shoal of jumping small mullet [could be bass fry] made along with a shoal of big garfish made.. When in Oz I remember an old fisherman talking about phosphorus in the water making your line ,bait and hook show up.. Have any of you guys seen this before? the light was bright but not quite as bright as an opened up glow stick P.S caught not fish, had a nice bass the night before though on a very weird bait

  7. Can you please explain why we the buyers ie the whole point of the APF show are being charged £15 on the gate or £13 if tickets purchased beforehand ''to spend our money'' I don't get charged to go to Saltex! It works out at a fair few quid if you go for three days , and imo it leaves a bitter taste in ones mouth! IMO with the credit crunch etc etc trade shows should be free of charge.
  8. You could always try biological control, personaly my favorite choice, try one of these ''Metaphycus helvolus'' these little chaps will eat there way through the scale insects in no time, they are available from these people http://www.interiorlandscaping.co.uk/Biologica.htm
  9. Spray with Scotts Bug Clear Ultra it will kill the scale insects, the black areas will be sooty mould, once the scale insects are all gone spray leaves with fungicide, the bills in the post lol

  13. I have a client who may be requiring the services of a conscientious Arb firm, to mulch a large Cedar and a Yew. PM with your contact details,if your interested. You will need a supply of decent semi-composted woodchip.
