  1. was it you or her who face planted into the tree when ya told me about that Matty?
  2. well if it'll earn ya money and you can afford it i'd go for it
  3. yes mate, was a challange even for me,he made the victim hang from his strop so he was wedged against the stem make it really hard to get above them then ya installed a pulley and strop, then the fun part was securing them to the lowering rope.dunno if they've changed how ya suposed to do it now but at the time it wasn't a quick process belive me
  4. did my nptc's in 97.we had to do a pole rescue then with spikes, bloody hard from memory.spiking past the victim to install lines was iffy
  5. looks like fun and for a good cause too, shame but i've got way to much on my plate at the mo or i'd do it
  6. turntable gets my vote.used to use a 9" premier on a turntable.Like ya say Ed not having to turn brush around to a rear feed chipper is very helpful
  7. should've given me a ring Lee,i'm only 10 mins up the road
  8. i always found my double kongs better than a prussick, but alas i broke them!so no more footlocking for me for a bit
  9. Is this job like a drug,i think it is.I have bugger all climbing work at the moment and am workin for my bro as a labourer. The money is the same, the job easier and safer but i would drop it like a stone when a climbing job comes up.I'm really missing it at the moment i need that buzz back:D
  10. wa sgoing to to do a degree in forest managment but need 2 years exp. in a related job,17 years later i'm still trying to get my 2 years experiance;)
  11. labouring for my bro!!!!!!!!!! at least it pays
  12. yep, learnt that quite a while ago.the longer you look at something the harder it becomes, think it's because you run to many options thru your mind.make a decision and go for it
  13. a guy i work for had never heard seen a running bowline till a few months ago and he's been doing this for 12 years
  14. nah not that Steve, think the handle gets knocked and just twists the top round.when it does happen tho you can't bend your leg, only takes a second to sort out but it's a little annoying
  15. i use 1 and like it,the main disadvantage i find is that sometimes it twists round my leg without me noticing then when you go to bend your leg the saw handle is jammed in the back of the knee. best thing is when ya get in an awkward position to cut and hold a piece you don't have to fish around trying to find the scabbard
  16. yellow on black would be better
  17. a saw that happen years ago when i first started but the guy was sat straddled across the log,he cut a big lump off and it just sat upright really quick,he looked slightly alarmed for some reason:lol:
