It does look super aggressive in comparison to other chains.
I wonder how it will cut when it has had the edge taken off it? Square is useless when dulled- full chisel tolerable but only just.

I really need to move over, however the thought of rebuilding all my saws is not appealing, nor is funding my season of hand cutting when 6 or 7l a day is common.

I seem to remember that was after a massive winter storm tore through Scandinavia. The OP is just spamming us with click-bait as usual 🖕🏻

Looks like a new version of square ground chain, which is 20%plus faster than normal round ground. Really interested

The good old British Brainwashing Cooperation - the worlds biggest, publicly funded propaganda machine 😬

They will have dual ratings - One for the winch and the other for the bollard. Depends or your intended use to which you choose. If your intending to spend every day slamming and catching big timber as opposed to lifting then don’t discount the Hobbs.

Determining if an air filter is effective is simple, tach a saw running with a brand new air filter to pre determined RPM, put on a soiled filter and register the RPM, replace with the aftermarket one and measure again. if the revs drop when the air filter is fitted, it is restrictive.
I actually tached a MS460 with and without its HD2 filter as the owner wanted to fit a Maxiflow and the result was that the cleaned used HD2 filter had very little restriction on the airflow compared to no air filter being fitted. You can tell from this that the HD2 air filter is working pretty well.
That’s fine on a clean filter in a controlled environment - the issue with the HD2 is the speed it clogs up & the fines it can let through. Neither improve performance or saw condition

Why are they not for everyone ? That is discrimination . 😐
Choice is always a fine thing 🙃😎

Not for everyone, but they are a step up 👍

Google is your friend Saul (only friend for some!)

I buy aftermarket air filters - MaxFlow. They are streets ahead of the Stihl ones, but expensive. Remember to retune your saw after fitting one 👍

An absolute cracker of a heavy leaning ash (I think - I was so horrified by the felling I didn't pay any attention to the tree species) recently felled at Woodlands theme park in Devon.
Spotted it whilst there with the girls. I think it's the worst hinge I've ever seen. The tree was a good 70cm in diameter.
Just a super deep gob to avoid bore cutting perhaps

Just put your hand in your pocket and invest in MaxFlow filters if you run bigger Stihls. They are not only an improvement in filtration, but an increase in performance too. Don’t forget to retune your saw after fitting.
if you fit an aftermarket dual port muffler too, the gains are noticeable

When stems get bigger, you need to “roll” the flipline - there are a good few videos online that could help, Reg Coates does one that is quite good. It is a new technique and will take a little time to learn, but stick with it as it is worth the effort.
Here is a vid that shows the more extreme end of it. I was lucky enough to be stood next to the cameraman and have a go at it.

It’s nothing that can’t be achieved with a sharp knife, roll of insulation tape & a lighter - simple solution for a simple problem 🙃

Pull it all the way out. Then winch in with a decent log attached. The binding is often due to poor winding on the spool

25 degree man me . Take rakers down a tad more if its soft wood .
What chain though? My square ground is at 10 and 25 would just be too aggressive

Angle is manufacturer and chain dependent- I generally read the information on the box and go with that. You can change things for hardwood or softwood, but I usually leave the top plate angle alone

Either zip it downhill on a rope (gravity is cheap) or pull it uphill with a winch. Simple solutions are usually the best in the woods

We taxed fairly across the spectrum of earners- so, the rich paid some as did multi-nationals. Radical behaviour I know 🙃
