    I have a sneaky feeling it takes a bit more than an extra hole or two in the exhaust and a wee twiddle of the mixture screws to get more power from a 121cc stroker

    You would be surprised- engines are often restricted with smaller muffler openings for emissions. Dual port mufflers are available from Stihl directly for some markets where emissions are less of an issue

  2. A few quick thoughts;

    It’s a halfway house between square ground and round ground.
    Smooth cutting and better on diagonal/cross grain cuts than the round . Bore cutting is fast and controlled.
    It does need to be  super sharp to perform (like square) and hates dirty timber. easy enough to sharpen unless you have really damaged it.

    Overall it is a good alternative chain for harvesting timber. I still personally prefer square ground for performance, however it gives some of the performance whilst being easy to sharpen.

    I’ve been meaning to buy plastic boards for ages. What’s thick enough to run a micro skidder on and thin enough to bend round a house corner?

    Look at stock board. Different diameters for different jobs though as the thicker ones weigh a bit. I use it for roadways, covering greenhouses roofs etc.

  4. I mentioned this on another thread. I completely believe that if an individual works hard for 40 hours a week they should be paid enough to feed, cloth and house themselves and have a life. In this context a paramedic is a degree trainer practitioner, so If they cannot, then it is not there fault.

    I do like the idea of the rope locking brake on the LD2 so you don’t have that anxious moment of watching your groundy taking off the wraps off the capstan on the GRCS once you’ve winched up a piece. Kind of the Achilles heel in an otherwise great bit of kit.

    If the wraps are removed one at a time and in a controlled way I have found zero problems. I just see the rope brake as a gimmick to eradicate a problem that can be solved with 5 minutes of training.
