looks a nice job simon
-
nah they were too badly shook unfortunately, no use at all
-
well if my ring count was anywhere near accurate then the tree was a mere 173 years old. our original estimate was based on the age of the building as our only guide
-
yes it does seem a waste! still......my customer is in the firewood game, not furniture so i guess his main concern is getting in stock.
-
it was horrendous.....but all those jap trucks seem to have the same problems. seen the canters get stuck on barely damp grass before now
-
think it was round about 300....will count the rings tomorrow when we fell the butt
-
i would assume so. it was a TPO'D tree so im sure the tree officer would have stipulated a replant.....not in my remit though
-
all going for firewood, other than the slab im going to take off the bottom for a garden table:001_smile:
-
maybe im just tiny:biggrin:
-
thats the one mate. when i got back to start the job i was thinking it looked a lot smaller than i remembered....sure change your mind when you're up it though! 020 came out for a half dozen cuts before i gave up on that idea! used the 341 mostly and took the depth gages down as i needed the cutting speed for those big horizintal limbs. just looked at some of the video footage and like a numpty i had the lens orientated sideways...will rotate it but it may mess up the dimensions a little
-
cheers guys. it was a steady job...for me anyway. one limb at a time then the groundies would clear it, all the brash went straight into the mobile incinerator...so a lot of hanging around for me. the stumps coming out next week i believe, big vermeer in for the job. pics were taken by gavin mostly...he visits here occassionally
-
Been working on this Cedar the past couple of days. It was initially a bit of a contentious subject, the customer wanted the tree out whereas we wanted to thin and take some end weight out here and there. After climbing it however i was happier about the removal. There were many fracture points and included unions all over the tree, and the fork just above the wound was an accident waiting to happen. Video will give a better picture once its edited.

she'll like the food part
-
not had any experience with the double cab, the single cabs are nice trucks though...one thing though, i'm guessing the double cab is going to be extremely poor off road...and way i say off road in this case i mean dry grass!
-
missed keeps banging on aboutme taking her to wales.....cant see her doing that though!
-
it hasnt gone un-noticed, thanks
-
well i assume by new, he meant the latest model/shape, however long thats been around for
-
does anyone on here have experience with the new citroen? i ruled them out when i was looking at buying a new truck due to my past experiences with the fiat ducato(which was essentially the same as the citroen back then), but the guy from tipmaster i was talking to at capel seems to rate the new ones
-
i find it most irritating that people cant follow a few extremely easy to understand and simple rules
-
plippy, please remember to post off topic threads in the lounge, general chat is for tree related subjects
-
if im honest......although the stihl sticker is cool...i think it looks kinda out of place mate
