  1. i happened across a couple of goat willows today with a lot of damage. There was a lot of ants around the trunks so i wondered if they were the culprits. i dont think it is however as the the holes seem too big. any ideas?
  2. it works differently with parallels.....it partitions a space during installation. im not going to be using it for webstuff anyway.
  3. im only running windows on it for quickbooks, nothing else. cheaper to but parallels that upgrade my quickbooks to a mac version
  4. yeah i heard that. dont fancy paying the £400 or whatever it costs these days if i dont have to though
  5. quickbooks 2005. i dont use it for quotes or payroll, just all my other accounts. yes its very good indeed! id thoroughly recommend it to anyone
  6. hmmm think i may have found the updates...fingers crossed it works
  7. ive just reinstalled quickbooks on my new mac, and went to transfer my account files over from the pc, however i get a message saying that i need to update to the latest version of quickbooks first. the version on my old computer has had various internet updates which is why the files are different. unfortunately intuit no longer supports quickbooks 5 so i cant get the updates from them. is there anyway of accessing the updates from the old computer? i wondered about transferring the files over from the pc in the hope they would overwrite the files on the mac when i drag them in. is this likely to work or is there another way i can get round this?
  8. Furthermore.... This is true...however in this instance, on this media, there IS something I can do about it...and i would do it for anyone else including you.
  9. wasn't me that said macs cant get virus's at this stage im not running any but thats purely due to not wanting my system bogged down by the software, one of my biggest gripes with the pc. i will carry on as normal. im about to install windows parallels, a virtual windows on the mac, which i need to run my accounting software....im not exactly sure how it works, but if possible i'll install AV on that and use it for downloading anything dubious
  10. i understand your point, but my stance remains the same as per my previous post
  11. well that was feb 2006 and nothing seems to have progressed further since?
  12. quite simply it goes against the grain of what arbtalk is about. i'm sure you wouldnt want people discussing your business on a public forum would you? Invariably, people come out of the woodwork who have an axe to grind in threads such as these...it sets a dangerous precedent IMO to encourage such threads.
  13. start menu > programs > accessories > system tools
  14. if you're lucky you may be able to fix this by doing a system restore if you have this set up on your computer...just revert your settings back to a week prior, or whenever you starting getting this problem. its worked for me before
  15. well ive been playing on the mac for the past hour and it seems pretty easy to get used to! took me a while to realize why i couldnt get the extra 2 monitors to work though....apparently you have to plug them in first...who knew?!
  16. the only slip ive had was on a dead elm....the bark comes off in big plates so be positive with your spiking.
  17. i pick up my mac pro tomorrow hopefully.....apprehensive about the change but still a little excited
  18. sorry...i was referring to the new england dragonfly(red fly). I had a short length for trial about 3 years ago....maybe new england dropped it?
