  1. for starters, how wides the road? some of those mewps legs stick out a mile. any reason they cant be climbed?
  2. cheers tim. well you saw the base of the trunk. basically the guy is pushing 90, loves the tree and wanted it to outlive him. they guy i subbed to i believe quoted for a 20% reduction. i think i went nearer 10%. everyone was happy. in relality it probably didnt make any difference to the trees lifespan mind. and no idea about the tyres!

  5. few more....note the mobile incinerator this company uses sometimes...its surprisingly efficient when it gets going
  6. Heres some pics I dug up of a light beech reduction i did a couple of years back. i was working near the tree today which brought it back to mind

  14. it was really windy today. we were working at a newmarket reace course...nice open fields for the wind to travel across. Its a fairly bit job we have on there deadwooding limes. got to the top of the first tree, unsheathed my zubat to cut a limb and the blade actually flexed in the wind....i suddenly felt very silly
  15. havent seen the whole job yet. theres a week of re-pollarding limes for sure.

  17. what were those pull out sections one of the older magazines used to run i heard you talk about in the past?
  18. this isn't about this site though.....and rarely are those grey areas resolved here, everyone has different opinions on things
  19. all the grey areas in the industry could do with being laid bare...ie red diesel in mogs
