  1. can you give an example of "US tat" I was under the impression any "tat" came from another location.
  2. and never a drone about when you need one.
  3. me neither, but then I think the same about some on here.
  4. national trust, another bunch of con artists getting someone elses money and living off it. while doing whatever they please with impunity. but don't take my word for it, visit trustpilot National Trust is rated "Poor" with 2.1 / 5 on Trustpilot UK.TRUSTPILOT.COM Do you agree with National Trust's TrustScore? 5. I was led to believe they are all doctors, lawyers, surgeons, and all young and fit so they won't need a doctor, and if they are not any of the above they'll be too busy organizing various crimes, pick pocketing, harassing people, especially underage females, to be going to the doctors. but don't worry starmer is going to smash the gangs soon,,, or so he claims. and they'll all move to somewhere else.
  6. even worse when turns out to be a cuckoo
  7. I met prince Charles once, before he was king, he struck me as somebody who would do a job, any job, to the best of his ability, extremely interested in my job at the time, and I got the feeling he derived a great deal of enjoyment and contentment being even for a brief few hours in the middle of nowhere with ordinary people doing manual work,It's my belief and observation he was more able and willing to do that job than any of us would be to attempt his, even more so now he is king, he became very close friends with an old fellow [now sadly deceased] who treated him with respect and even gave him some instructions on the job, which he gladly took part in, and corresponded with him long after his visit.
  8. Update on amazon saga,, they have refunded my payment, so I now have ordered another mityvac elsewhere, and tonight at app 9.30 yet another parcel dumped in a hedge, this time the wife got to it before anyone else walked off with it, two hours on the phone to amazon customer services in an attempt to resolve the ongoing non delivery issues. lots of assurances it will cease,, we shall see. as for the saw, got the carb sorted, if a test shows seals to be toast, I'll pull them and try the local bearing / seal supplier. in the meantime rebuilt 2 041av stihls and added them to the collection.
  9. come on children,, give daddies laptop back
  10. we all experience events in our lives that once happen become memories, some are pleasant and others unfortunately are not. I'll wager almost everyone on here has climbed trees as a youngster, and has fond, memories of it, those unfortunate children would have had those fond memories but for this tragic turn of events, now a chain reaction of grief and sorrow has begun with the parents at the very pinnacle. life can be unexplainably cruel at times.
  11. owner of a place I worked at for some time told me about pinching apples from an abandoned garden, pretty much all the low fruit had gone so he went higher, he's a big lad, strong, fit, good at school sports etc,not fat and sluggish, pretty much as high as he could get with jumper tucked in jeans and bulging with fruit,, branch gave way and down he went breaking more branches on the way down, and then got impaled through his stomach and hung some 6-8 feet from the ground, on his own he emptied the apples from the bulging jumper and with some effort lifted himself from the branch that was embedded in his guts, then hold everything in as best he could he walked to the hospital as he couldn't ride his bicycle and hold his guts in, he made it but collapsed in the entrance, thankfully he fully recovered. I recall we were at Bovington camp sitting around a campfire, like a scene from jaws swapping stories about injuries.
  12. Yes about 6000rpm according to Mike Acres collectors corner,I had hoped to use occasionally on a few easy home jobs, mainly because I like using the old stuff, it's what I had when I started. I have over 50 others to choose from so it wont get any serious abuse. the crank seals are not perished or damaged, but I think maybe a little hard from lack of use, I think I will have to remove them and find a suitable replacement or it will become an ornament, I'm not that keen on decorations.
  13. In this case they have failed to deliver to my address, I live in a large woodland location, in the past parcels from some couriers have been left in farm gateways, hedges, etc as I have no nearby neighbors, often some distance from the cottage, the local farmer has found them in the past and called to say they are there, I placed a polite notice asking they deliver to the house address on the parcel, it seemed a simple enough request, however I received a notification from amazon saying it had been delivered, and a picture of a parcel literally inches away from the sign, this is 9'00 in the evening, so I go to the sign and there's nothing there, I notified them and they wont do anything until tomorrow. the gateway is used by many people as there's a farm camp about a mile or so away and it's renowned for trouble to the extent people have moved away to avoid it, theft, they pissandshit everywhere, theft increases 5 fold when they are there as does shoplifting in the nearest town, and fuel theft, you name it it happens there, even prostitution and money laundering. interpol raided the place and carted of two absconders from europe who had murdered someone and came here on bogus papers, one of them then tried to stab a member of staff. "move to the countryside they said, it's nice and peaceful here" Aye right!
  14. probably trumps fault!
