Manual says min is 11.5mm. You could try it low and see what it bites like if it works ok maybe back it up with a prussik as you go higher to start with. I find with the lock jack on some ropes you actually need the smaller 11/12 clutch to make it tend nicely although technically you should be using the larger 12/13.

Is it ok for the zigzag to be used on 11mm rope, kernmaster?

I assume you have a Zigzag, in which case try it out on the rope...

After reading that death trap zigzag thread the other day, I ordered one off amazon, spent all afternoon playin with it on what can only be described as a piece of string, seemed to stick to that all right.

So I'm guessing it'll work on a proper piece of rope..

Yeah I noticed it says 11.5 but was wondering if half a mil could make that much difference. My kern is well used so has probably fluffed up to more than 11mm? Like you say, I'll try it low to start. Is the only problem it could have is not gripping and needing to be set?

Yeah as far as I could see the only problem would be with it not tending because the diameter is too small, but as others have said they are running 11mm give it a whirl and see how it runs. From my experience most of the mechanical devices tend better with the smaller diameter ropes as they feed through better

Coolio 👍 The zz is brand new, it's the rope that's well used, so all's good hopefully. I normally climb srt on the BDB but it's getting real jumpy when it's chucking it down, so thought i'd give the zz a dabble on wet days!
