Hi all

Check this out

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9ipPCLOC7M]YouTube - Stihl 'v' Oregon Bar and Chain[/ame]

The solution in this instance is a 95VPX chain [narrow kerf .325 050] fitted on a Prolite .325 050 bar.

The result less resistance in the wood and a much faster cut

i have the microlite bar on my smaller husky (340e) and i think its great, nice and light, definatly make cutting easier, and actually seem to be wearing better than my powermatch plus bars on the bigger saws, despite being nearly 3 years old

hmm intresting come to think about it when a was using husky bars it tended to run slow then started using oregon bars run faster and less wear.

do you think this is because the bar sprocket runs smoother?

Hmmm think something wasnt quite right there. Stihl bar flew through it, OK so did the oregon but near the end the stihl slowed right up. Didnt look right to me.

Didnt really want to butt in, but i was thinking the same!

There was little between the saws near half way through, then the stihl bar seemed to be bogged all the time.

Never a fan of comparisons like this, my 260 cuts like the stihl bar one on the vid.............

just for reference as well what was the bar and chain on the stihl? any idea, as if it was a 3/8 0.063 then the pro lite should have spanked it really due to being so much narrower kerf,
