Hi all, I have a petzl vertex with the vizir fitted but when I put the visor fully down it breaks the seal on my right ear muff and let's all the noise in 😤 is there an adapter or spacer I need to buy? Thanks

I have the vizor on my petzl vertex vent and have sordin ear defenders with no issues,i take my eardefenders off when im climbing and use earplugs.

Im not aware if any spacers for the vizor either.my advice would be get better eardefenders or use plugs

Hi Karl, I think the problem is the Peltor ear defenders, just stuck a Peltor on my Helmet and yeah the wire part catches on the vizor, will post a pic showing the difference between the MSA defenders and the Peltor. Looks like you'll need to go for MSA.

Same problem with my Stein, will also be using plugs from now on. Bloody disgrace....

 

 

I got a stein helmet and even the chipper defenders don't seal on it!

Here's some pics showing the difference between the MSA ear defenders and the Peltor ones and the amount of clearance between them and the Petzl Vizor. The wire/spring part on the Peltor ones catch on the Vizor and as you say push the actual ear defender backwards.

I bet that's well handy when you're working on the ground looking up and the climbers saw dust is going in your eyes! Can you have the mesh one on too?

Thanks that great. That's exactly what's happening. When I bring the visor down it doesn't go all the way, when I push it down full it moves the muff. Kind of annoying. Cheers
