One that is the correct gauge for the bar rails and one that is the correct pitch for the nose sprocket and power mate . I prefer full chisel my self .

What is "best" depends on a few factors regarding the wood and cutting conditions, and some times the operator as well.

 

As my wood and conditions usually are "clean", I prefer chisel chain (not semi-chisel), and my favorites are Oregon LP/LPX, Oregon LGX and Stihl RSC/RS.

It's a Husqvarna 550xp. It's used for cross cutting limbing and small tree felling.

I would be on full chiz .325 pitch then . probably driven by an 8 pin power mate if its a 15" bar or less .

If you keep your chain nice and sharp full chisel and if you are less bothered about speed and don't enjoy sharpening semi chisel. Basically full chisel cuts faster but needs more care.
