just found this thread, i picked up my holder last month, i had only ever heard of 2 that were lying rusting, but i put a guy onto someone who paid a grand just for the engine with out seeing it, i think they are getting pretty rare. i couldnt resist buying it, looking forward to some summer night playing in the woods. i just need to sort the hand throttle, it keeps slipping forward, really annoying lol

You and your toys! Do you ever end a week with exactly the same kit as you started it with?:001_tt2:

its 55hp, so i reckon a small flail could be driven, flaming ace mentioned a bush hog, i wonder if thats something similar to a mulcher

the bush hog at college is just a heavy duty topper type thing, we always use it for clearance in the woods and ride widening, you just gotta keep your hand ready to lift the linkage when you come to a stump, it ent to keen on hitting them :001_tongue:

thats a nice looking holder so do you guys think its possible to get a mulcher that would be good enough to do the job or is it a dead duck, i have no expertise in the mulching area but i reckon any farmer that has maybe 2-3 acres of good spruce that maybe thinking of expanding the land might be inticed to get rid of his trees if this alternative was available that would mean no money changing hands and a decent profit from timber and the farmer happy with not having to deal with branches i dont know about you guys but here timber seems to be the only thing that hasn't suffered during the recession,if its on roadside its whipped up straight away and there are no signs of it easing up

the bush hogs arent bad, we have one on a shoot near here which does a tidy job on the rides, there was a tidy one in a farm sale down here about 3 wks ago that only made about £200, i prefer a flail though, especially on heavier stuff like brambles or juncus but for tidying rides up they are a great tool
