The new HiLux due by the end of the year will have 3500kg towing capacity I believe. They have had the higher limits abroad but apparently it was Toyota UK who were not prepared to warrant the higher limit. Things have obviously changed.

 

 

Its only 3200 here in Sweden to, pretty daft imo

Ant anstead had one on (2016/17 model) test for a magazine recently, seams the wheel arches are all open with no covers. Meaning all the road crap blows into the engine bay and all the chassis nooks & crannies......

It can't be long until they all adopt 3500kg towing weight. I notice the new transit has a 3500kg tow option (6500 GTW I believe)

 

Lots are doing it now. Even the twin rear wheel Renault Master is 3.5t towing.
